Morning boys.

Guess I missed the excitement yesterday...for some reason there were 3 cops walking up the street and then surrounding my neighbor's house. No weapons drawn. Of course they were at work so no one answered the door when the officer knocked.
Neighbors came home late last night, drove up the street together, he parked his truck in the garage, checked the mailbox, got in his wife's rig as she waited at the end of the driveway and they drove off. Never went in the house. Normally she would be home about an hour earlier than him.
They must have come back home later on, lights on in the place this morning. Just curious what's going on. Nice couple, late 50's, hes a mechanic and she works for the child welfare agency. Wonder if something related to her job caused some alarm or something...

 

I missed the initial visit with the cops. I was out talking to my downstairs neighbor last night and he told me about it. As we were talking the other neighbors drove up and then left.

 

kinda makes me nervous. not only because they are nice people and it worries me that something bad could be happening to them but because I'm pretty much the only one on the entire block that is home all day. this place clears out during the week - maybe half a dozen people over four blocks stay home during the day. I don't want to be here alone if some shit is going to go down. The fact that she works for the child welfare office makes me think that it could be an angry family member or someone making threats. Total speculation but seems plausible
also, 3 officers showing up seems like overkill. i didn't even know we had 3 officers on duty at any given time!

actually we were talking about another neighbor who tested positive for COVID over the weekend.
