That shifter reminds me of a gaming joystick. Just need a missile launcher button and you’re all set. I do like the way it looks though

I wonder if you could mod that shifter to add a red push button to the top to replace the ETC PWR button

 

There are a few kits to move the ECT to the shifter. That specific knob would require some more modification though

Installed my Seatjackers from DesertDoesIt, maybe get the rack/bracket attachment for both sides later. Haven't driven yet but it felt nice sitting in it!

 

You raised the front? From what the highly trusted interweb tells me, it is the rear that needs a spacer.

 

The whole seat is too close to the floor, but there’s so little headroom it almost has to. When I sit in the seat (if I had power seats) I would raise the front edge. It reminds me of an ‘88 Scirocco I once owned. If I adjusted the seat for proper driving, I heater had to tilt my head or open the sunroof and let a little hang out the top.

Edit: the rear seat jackets are popular because they are easy to make and install.

 

Every body is built different. Most raise the rear to alleviate lower back issues associated with longer commutes. The factory seats are angled down too far for most. Not just Tacomas but other Toyotas and a lot of Fords have same issue. 80% of my 1200 sales have been to Tacoma owners.

 

Thanks. I found it counter-intuitive to raise the rear as, like you, I typically look to raise the front for leg support and then recline a little to keep my head off the roof. However, I went ahead and added the rears to alleviate some lower back stress.....so I hear. Too early to tell if this is working for me.
These Taco seats are definitely not as comfy as my 5th gen 4Runner.

Please report back post data collection! Interesting that the 4Runner is more comfortable. I’ve been looking for a new car for the wife and have been avoiding them in the assumption that it would feel and drive like the Tacoma.

 

As you say that I have recently been selling to 5th gen 4runner owners too. Mostly under 6' tall drivers.

 

If I raised the back I'd slide off the seat lol, I didn't even know people raised the back. I'm 5'11" with sunroof and don't hit my head either way. I'm not necessarily uncomfortable in my Tacoma, just thought I'd try this out and If I don't like em sell em forward.

Right! Just hold the sides of the bed and use the tire as a step

 

Sunroof..... Had that issue with a 4Runner too. Ha!

Can't imagine that for a 5th gen. My 5th gen has an electric seat that allows for a very good seating position for me and now my bride since she has taken that truck. I wish it had the "memory" for the seat that some newer cars have but that's no big deal.
The Tacoma seats are a throw-back to the 70's.....in my opinion!
