But the question is, can you? And how much can we bribe you with to do so?

I could make some brackets, definitely. Whether or not they flex I couldn’t guarantee. Plus I don’t have a third gen to build off of. It would be more trouble than it’s worth.

I am a particular person yes. I’m sure it’s apples to oranges on the ram and yota brackets but I can’t see why they’d way overbuild them for one platform and not for another. Unless they’re hood mounted then it’s a crapshoot.

Each of mine mount with 4 bolts, 3 of which are directly to the fender.

I think the Toyota ones (3rd gen at least) are only mounted with two bolts to the hood hinges, with some rubber dampers.

That’s unfortunate. Someone post up some under hood pics so I can see what we’re working with please.

I would buy SDHQ but they won't clear my snorkel. Relentless Fab are the only one's that actually work.

I'll take some pictures in a few.
Ah, luckily I don't have a snorkey, so I'll probably go with those. First I'll have to see how my other setup ideas will work.

You missed a lot lol. My truck is a ram 3500, the brackets are made by SDHQ and fender mounted so they’re very solid but it doesn’t seem you guys have choices other then hood hinge mounted which aren’t so solid.

Maybe something could be done utilizing the top bolts i see but without having one in front of me I’m not positive

How would the 4 Squadron pros (2 wide/drive on bumper, 2 Racer spot on A Pillar) compare to 2 Squadron pros wide/driving on A Pillar and one 10" ONX6+ on the bumper?

Seems like the bar with 2 Squadrons will have more overall lumans but I'm just not sure how the racer version compares to the 10" ONX6+ bar. Either combination I do will have the Squadron Pros in Wide driving - I really dig that light!

I'm going to break it down to two options just to make it clear.

    Option one:
2 Squadron Pros driving/combo lens in front bumper
2 Squadron Racer Edition on A-pillar mount

    Option two:
2 Squadron Pros driving/combo lens on A-pillar mount
    10" Onx6+ driving/combo on front bumper

If you were to go with two Squadron Pros in a driving/combo lens and two Squadron Racer Editions, you're going to get more distance. That's because you have 8 Racer LEDs (dome-less which translates into a tight pencil beam) compared to a 10" Onx6+ which has two. I don't like to specify the lumen count on the Racer Edition just because I don't think it accurately represents the purpose. You would only use the Racer Edition if you're looking for maximum distance or if you average speeds of over 75mph+ on the dirt. Otherwise, the broader beam of a Squadron Pro will actually be better for slower speeds. You'll be able to see closer to you and you won't get that tunnel vision situation.

I'm not sure if I've already asked, but what kind of off-roading are you doing? tight, technical trails or wide, long desert runs? What kind of speeds? This will tell me what would be best the setup for you. Having the most lumen count is not always the solution, it's the optics and type of LEDs.

For sure I get that lumen count alone is not all it's cracked up to be, for a host of reasons. I think the piece I was missing was that the racers have the 8 distance (racer) LEDS vs the Bar having only 2. Thus you will get the distance with the bar, but not at the intensity that the racers would provide at that distance.

Yeah, this is really more for on-road driving usually at highway speeds (65mph+). Street legality is not an issue because when and where I'd use the aux lighting would be remote, without oncoming traffic.

Our roads don't usually have excessive long straight shots for miles and miles (there are some though) like you might have in the midwest. Probably the bar will get me far "enough" and have more spread for general lighting at the mid distances as well as some reach far out there. I'd suspect that a fair amount of the time the racers would just be illuminating only one side of the road and trees as I approached curves.

Out of curiosity, the 20" ONX6+ bar would then have 4 of the Racer LEDs?

That is correct, a 20" Onx6+ has four Racer LEDs. We engineer each circuit board to have the most efficient output with consideration to optics, beam spread, power consumption, heat, and overall distance. This prevents hot spots and gaps, which can be a huge complication when driving at night for long periods of time.

To be honest, either of those setups are going to be just fine for your intended purposes. But like I mentioned in the previous response, I like adjustability. The pods offer left/right and up/down adjustment whereas a light bar is up/down. A pair of Squadron Pros driving/combo and a pair of Squadron Racer Editions is my pick. :)

Why not do all of it? Do what I did and buy all the lights...hehehe I'm kidding...or am I?

There's only a few people that can be apart of the 100,000+ lumen club and you might be the king!
