I can do it all myself; I can't do any of it with my sciatica.

 

Sorry to hear that man. You sure did a lot for her from what you've mentioned on here. But if it doesn't work it doesn't work, it'll hurt for a time but enjoy being single for awhile after such a long relationship. Treat yo self

 

You figured out any sort of root cause yet? My mom has been dealing with it for a couple years now, seems like the thing that aggravates it the most is sitting in her car.

I have a small dumb theory and two reasons that may have lead to it -

For the past month and a half or two, I've done a lot less outdoors than the whole rest of the year. Haven't taken out the bike, haven't even gone hiking or to the beach or anything. Not only is COVID to blame for that, but also the bad air quality we had these past weeks.

Second reason I think is because for the past week and a half, I was the sales manager so instead of being in my office, I was running things from another office and chair. Could be the combination of not moving as much as stated above, not to mention being grounded to that chair while running the sales office that caused my body to 'compress' for a lack of better term. As a finance manager, I'd have down time in between deals and would often walk the lot or stay on my feet as much as possible. As a sales manager, I was always busy on the desk.

All I know is, I want this shit to go away, and I'm hoping either the physical therapy this coming Monday helps, or the Inversion Table I ordered a few days ago.

That really sucks about your mom having it; it's extremely painful and I'd hate for anyone to have to go through it.

That's damn impressive, regardless of out come. From what happened in my own life, there's definitely a chance she'll be back. But she's the one splitting it off so absolutely explore your options, in your own time when you're ready.

yup. me and her had many first together. hell. i got her into camping when i got the truck. she got me to come out of my shell so long ago. i use to be a shut in before her. I have a lot to thank her for. and if its time to move on then so be it. It wasnt a shitty break up. it was more of an calm one. And i even told her. all she has to do is call. shes still a friend to me.

 

Seems like a couple of sound theories, especially if you've got a good idea whats changed. Physical therapist might have some good input too, I'm sure they see this a lot.

My mom's is pretty minor really, just in her leg, and now that she's narrowed down the cause I think she's getting pretty good at avoiding it. She changed all the toilet seats so they weren't contoured, bought a pillow to sit on in the car, and makes sure to get out and walk.

Inversion table? Sleep like batman!

 

Sounds like the SO and I.

This is the perfect time to focus on yourself, and allow her to focus on herself.

The fact that you're still open to having a friendship with her says volumes about how much respect you have for one another.

If it's anything like us, you'll do anything for her, and she will for you. That doesn't mean that you need to be in a relationship together though.
