My honest opinion is... fucking fantastic. Part of the reason i intentionally sleep in the truck now, I missed it so much.


REAL living out of a van is not as glamorous as modern culture has made it out to be. And I was doing it before it was considered 'hip' so there was a fair amount of stigmatizism to it, especially since I was working no less than 2 jobs at the time and my full time job knew full well I was 'houseless' (trademark; my phrase)


But anyway, if you live long long term you need to accept the fact you're going to be shitting in your vehicle eventually, and carrying that literal pile of shit with you until you can dispose of it. After that other stuff seems easier

I'd drive it like a granpa to put the least amount of load on it but it would sound like clocktower going off at noon when I'd let the clutch out. Get it up to speed and there was no clunking at all

 

I love the stories old plates tell. '66 was a long long time ago.
