So why would you lose speedo if only 1 of the 4 fails?

That is also incorrect. In a manual transmission, the speed signal is developed by the VSS. It then passed to the instrument cluster. In an automatic transmission, speed signal is developed in the skid control ECU and passed to the instrument cluster.

You won't, who said that? I've had a failed speed sensor on my 6 speed and the speedo works fine. You get a MIL for a sensor malfunction.

My 05 prerunner would have brake&abs light on when one sensor was lost, then mil on with 2 sensors lost, then no speedo with three sensors lost. I have since done the tcase to speedo mod and speedo works again. Brake light is on but I don't care about abs. When the speedo was out I blacked out the abs and air bag lights so I can't see them anymore.

I know my abs light is on but the light is blacked out. My brake light is on but that's because I'm pretty sure both my rear sensors aren't connected.

Anyone have pictures of a single stick FJ case with a manual? I'm trying to figure out the best way to mod the shifters so they don't hit each other or the console. Seems like a tight fit no matter what.

Here's the single stick behind my 6spd. I am fairly sure the layout of the shifters is the same. I am using the stock FJ t-case shifter and it rubs a little bit on the main one in 2wd 5th and 6th but I didn't modify anything

What about in 4LO? The t-case stick is hitting the console hard.

Here's 4Low. It's a tight fit but mine has no problem shifting without interfering with the console. It gets cozy on the side but with the boot in there I am happy with it. I am kind of OCD and it didn't rub enough on there or on the shifter for me to want to try to modify things. IMG_4572.jpg

Did you have to mod the FJ stick at all?

Yeah it got moved to come out up and right. Think the stock is either down and right or up and left. Depends on how u put the shifter into the shift base.

Mines in there up and right. Could flip it around to be down and left but it didn’t seem to want to go in that way.

Deleted it with the manual awd FJ cruiser diff tube. My big motivation to do this project was to get rid of actuators that cause problems. The ADD one was the first to go

No problems with abnormal wear/binding in the front driveline? I'm starting to collect parts for both of these swaps.
