Why the hecklestiltskin is the swing out option for the rear so freakin' much? :annoyed:

I'll take the skids though after my slammy-sammy fiasco on Ron's Rock :spending:

Not bad for the old gal; it'll be even better when I get my next one

I just want a high clearance hitch. My rear bumper is almost one of the last things I ever worry about hitting. It would require me to be on an obstacle I shouldn't be on in this truck. The hitch however takes a regular beating. I'm firmly in the camp of "upgrade only if it breaks" camp, and only put a skid over anything critical that you've knocked once on the trail.

This keeps my builds modest and I don't end up with something like @jeff b 's rig or @Sociopenguin 's DP lol. Not that I wouldn't take the gokart for a spin.

Too bad I already sold my Chapter 7 rear off. I loved the hidden integrated hitch.

Boy, Lockart Basin was my hardest trail yet. I have some good scratches by the fog lights. Also had to be winched up a certain point where a rear locker handled with ease. 30 mile trail took 8 hours too. Finally got to camp around 7:30pm.

    Looks like an awesome trip!

I did that Lockhart Basin a few years ago in the jeep. Caught up with two brothers on single-cylinder BMWs shortly into it and ended up carrying their gear to help them better handle the trail. Found out a couple days later that one of them had cracked a rib dumping the bike on that rocky uphill section you posted. They were pretty hardcore dudes.

Damn, that's wild. A jeep and 4runner caught up with us so we were all watching each other do the work.

I couldn't believe how long it took to get through. We drove till we reached the campgrounds by 211 highway.

We were aired down. Rear locker was deffo needed. I tried so many times, teetered to point 1 front and back tire lost traction. White taco made up in one go.

Plus in picture, steep drop off to the right, so i had to pull to left with no room.

Aside from the vacuum vs electric brake boosters, I've always wondered what the major electrical, programming, and mechanical differences are between ATRAC equipped TRDs and us normies. I've obviously considered the feasibility of doing a conversion lol

The brake booster and the electronics to control it. I believe the system piggy backs off ABS essentially.
