3rd Gen Tacoma lighter port mod

Has anyone replaced their lighter port charger with a usb/ usb-c charger? I’m trying to figure out how to remove the panel to install and use back tightening nut to keep in place.

 

Yes.

Remove the radio bezel / trim. then remove the climate controls then reach down to have access behind the lighter port. There are small pins inside the lighter port to push out to release. There is not a lot of wire slack but can be done.

Yes they are, I have a few sets the Dr. let me keep from removing stiches. He looked at me really weird when I asked if I could keep them.

They are. I have three different sizes, straight and curved. HF has some for cheap also, but it sounds like you have a reliable source.

 

I don’t think that’ll be easy for her to smuggle out haha.

 

My favorites are the small plastic ones. We use them to close chip bags and such haha

 

a friend of mine once told me you can buy those straight off Amazon in single use cartridges for baking and pastry purposes
