Well... while Ryan is having unfortunate luck with his copy.. many are digging this game including me. Here's a review from BFC.OT of which I am a member of. Fel, wrote the review... I tend to agree with all of this comments.

I'm enjoying it so far. Other than longggg load times on some stuff I haven't had any issues myself. Did my first license test and the first couple A-spec races. Bought the used MX-5 Miata myself. With some tuning it's pushing a whopping 138hp lol. Gonna suck now giving equal attention to GT5 and Black Ops.

Yeah...I installed it, then my PS3 got the red light of death (flashing red light) as soon as I started playing.

Now GT5 is stuck in my PS3 and I don't know how to get it working again. Fuck.

For the love of me, I cant get any better than 9th place in the VW Bus Top Gear challenge. Good enough for bronze. I'll take it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who was having trouble with the Top Gear VW van challenge. I finally got first place on it this morning. I saved the replay, so if I can figure out how to get it off my PS3 I'll put it up on youtube so you guys can watch in awe of my mad skills.

Right now I'm racing with a '69 Corvette Stingray that is pushing about 395hp and 450+lb/ft torque. For the first 2 racing series, it is not even close to a fair fight. I am usually 30+ seconds ahead by the time the races are done. The professional racing series is something of a challenge, now that I'm racing against Ferrari's and Lamborghini's.

Did anyone else buy their copy from GameStop and get the "unique car package" of a NASCAR car and a "stealth" McLaren F1? Is anyone else offering collector cars for buying the game there? I dont know if it will work, but the code I was given to redeem the cars is 7GH3-RQN9-98F7. GameStop.com has the instructions for how to redeem the code. Someone try it and let us know if it worked.

It is a good thing it is Thanksgiving weekend, cause between GT5, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit and the newest patch of WoW: Cataclysm being live, I've got a lot of gaming to do over the next few days.:D

The Top Gear VW challenge is ridiculous. I couldn't believe I was racing a VW van around the Top Gear track lol. I haven't gotten better than 10th. I gave up for now. Up to level 8 now. Cars I've bought so far have been an MX-5 Miata, Integra Type-R and BWM Z4 M coupe. Racing in the rain looks pretty sweet.

What model PS3 do you have?? There's something you can do to get your PS3 running again if it's the older PS3 (PS3 fat.) It requires screw drivers, opening the PS3, a heat-gun, using said heat gun to heat up motherboard, and some thermal grease. There's a good video on youtube on getting that solder underneath the cell and rsx evened out properly again. Mind you this is only temporary. My PS3 fat was revived 9 times this way before saying goodbye forever. It takes some good time the first time but you get really good at it after a while. Save that PS3!!

I was way into GT1 and GT2 but after I got Xbox I started playing the Need For Speed series. I've had my PS3 since they first came out so I'll probably end up getting GT5 sooner or later.

It's the very first 60GB model. I got it like a month after they first came out. I JUST had my hard drive repaired in March...

I think I'm just going to get a new one. This one gave me plenty of playing time. :)

I would like to get it running again though to use as a Blu-Ray on another TV...

I just need to figure out how to get my game out... :(

If you are logged into the PS3 network when trying to play GT5 off-line, you may experience longer loading times. Log-off and you should be good. A patch for this is coming out on the weekend.

I'm going to see if I can find a new PS3 tomorrow and see if there's any cool deals for Black Friday. I might go to Fry's. :)

I still want my old one though so I'll get it fixed eventually to use as a Blu-Ray player. :)

Yeah, it's not GT5's fault. My PS3 is just really old. :p
