If he's got the 18 gallon tank and filling up with ~15 gallons left at 220 miles/tank, that's closer to about 14.5mpg. That's about what I'm lucky to get these days

Although, since I got my alignment "band aid fixed" and my truck is no longer pulling hard, I'm noticing an increase in mpg the last couple tanks. It never occurred to me that my bad alignment was part of the problem but I guess it makes sense. Not constantly fighting the direction the truck wants to go

Too much caffeine on an empty stomach is the worst feeling, I took a 200mg caffeine tab one morning on an empty stomach and wanted to die. Shaking, sweating, nausea...I can normally take one of those and not feel any of those things but when your stomach is empty its a whole different feeling lol.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
For anyone that's interested. Those Kumho AT51 tires I had put on the cruiser in January are still doing well. I was concerned about a vibration that had gotten intense at 45mph and again at 75mph so I went in for a rebalance and they're smooth as glass again with good tread wear so far.

Around town in a 4banger 1st gen 4wd Tacoma that sounds about right to me

It's the little 5 lug 4 bangers that get the car-like gas mileage

That's fair. I'm just biased I guess. The original sales sticker said the 4x4 3rz should get 18 city and since i rebuilt the engine and trans i assumed I'd hit that at least.

I just thought it would be higher because I used to be able to get 15mpg in a V8 econoline with how easy I am on the throttle
