I have the same distance on my Colorado for 2+ years now and no problems. I'm 99% water tight, top looks new with aero 303 once a year.

Doesn't look like its touching the cab. Can you fold the topper without it hitting the cab? If so, im sure you'll be good.

That looks sharp. The raw metal frame work matches the truck color. Been thinking about power coating mine black or OD green.

    From softopper

"You have Softopper model TAC74, which does come with a straight rear bar. At one point we did make a curved rear bar for your truck; however, we found that they just were not fitting very well. Therefore, we redesigned that model with a straight rear bar, and extended the bed rails. It fits much better than the one with the curved rear bar.

We do still make the curved rear bar for the 5ft bed though, as that design fit well on that specific truck."

That's interesting. I wonder why the straight bar fits better on the long beds. Maybe the angle at where the rear panel sits is different?

The first install stretch. Gotta let it sit a few days. Then adjust. Second SoftTopper. Sold my old one. Couldn’t stay away. Went tan this time.

Real talk, how long does it take one person to fold it down, and set it up from folded down?

Wash and wax today. Took off the topper while waxing and reminded myself how sweet this thing is. Quick disconnect on my 3rd brake light make it effortless. I love my softopper.

Softoppers are the bomb! I see you have a shovel have you figured out a way to mount a high lift jack with a softopper frame? Just asking?

I have not tried to mount a hilift but placement would be the same as my shovel, or on the back wall. Fabricating a mount for a hilift would be simple enough though. I use a "Big Red Bottle Jack" since I use stock bumpers and no sliders. Plus I can drive off of this jack safely.

I built these myself. They protrude far enough to allow the topper to fold down or be removed.
