    I used to have a 70 Duster with a 340 6pack. Also had a 70 Superbird with a 383 for a very short while.

    Look here, pal. A blown 426 is the way to go. The 440 was best used as a boat anchor. You can't put a truck motor in a car and expect good results!

    It's just a lock, nothing more? If you're going to do it then at least change out the tailgate skin while you're at it and do not go in a circlar pattern screwing it back down :facepalm:

    Went thru a lot of U joints till I put on traction bars. The Duster started life as a 318 auto.

    We had actually considered the same but nixed for the same reasons. We went with the powder coated aluminum Pakrax, mainly for weight reasons.

    If you're ever interested, we have a second skin we never put on my truck and could be talked into a deal :thumbsup:
