I'm in central Alberta and to be honest when I heard I was concerned as well. The best thing you can do is to keep your keys as far away from the vehicle as possible. What the thiefs do they use a replicator to copy the signal that your keys give out to your vehicle. I read that even with your keys inside the house that doesn't stop them. The device is an electronic device that can steal and copy the key signal from 300' away.
But apparently there is a deterrent, ofcourse lock your vehicle and buy yourself an RFID pouch to keep your keys in it after you parked your car/truck. The spare set you have wrap it in aluminium foil. Basically you are creating a mini Faraday cage. Or buy two RFID pouches (on Amazon a single RFID pouch can be cheap...$15, or a pack of two for around $20). I have tried it and with the keys inside the pouch the vehicle was not able to detect i was near. Good luck.
I made the habit of placing the keys in the pouch even when I go shopping, supposedly the thiefs wait for Toyota's and Lexus vehicles and watch you...then with that device the replicator the can drive your car away...pass the word!

Thanks! I actually turn off my keys (hold lock and press unlock twice). My spare key is always turned off and I just turn off my main key every time I get out of the truck so the signal is not transmitted. I spoke to one of the guys who had his Tacoma stolen in January (3 blocks away from my house) and he said they broke the door handle to gain access and used the OBD II port to steal it. His keys were in a faraday box so they didn't do the relay theft thingy. So I installed a dummy OBD port and moved the actual port somewhere else in the truck.

Where in central Alberta are you? I used to live in Rocky Mountain House...

At the dealership for it's 6 month service and, hopefully, they can reattach the TRD badge on the passenger door without needing to get the body shop involved. For some reason the adhesive is letting go.

Edmonton, and yes...an OBD lock would be nice. A German company makes some out of metal (OBD Saver but they make vehicle specific and the ones I came across are nearly £200 (English pounds)...

Downside - couldn't do anything with it.

Upside - ordered a new one instead. Supposed to be in middle of the week.

Also, how long does TPMS need to reset itself? The two passenger tires read 35psi and the two driver's side are 40 and 41. It did feel like it was riding rougher than usual on the way home.

Just ordered two RotopaX mounts as well as a 2 gal gas and a 1 gal water RotopaX, one for each wheel well. That's the plan anyway.

Or you could buy a 3$ roll of 3m adhesive trim tape and do it yourself. I mean, that's all they're going to do.

I guess that works. Seems unnecessary on their part.
