Limited Slip "Fricton modifiers" in front

    You don't have limited slip in the front end and there's no reason for you to use that in the x-fer case. I don't know as if there'd be any adverse effects by using friction modifiers but I'd just go with the standard oils called for in the owner's manual.

    4.10 gears, sliders, and lots of buttons.
    The Mobil 1 "LS" only means its safe for use in a Limited slip diff....It has no friction modifyer in it.

    That's what I was wondering because that's all I could find. All the off the shelf stuff has an Limited Slip label so that lead me to believe it had the modifiers in it, which I do not want in the front and xfer case.

    Read the labels carefully. Some of the oils make you think there's friction modifiers in it - when they don't. Others actually have friction modifiers in them (like Amsoil Severe Gear).

    I don't think there's any problems with using those oils (with modifiers)in an OPEN diff or the t-case.
