I get it. I searched prior to, I promise. Probably not well enough because I’m sure it’s been answered 8 million other times..

But I enjoy the look of the BHLM and “pro” style headlights. Has anyone gone with the Pro Tuning Lab headlights? I’m leery of quality due to such a good deal because so many times these days you get what you pay for and if I purchase something I’d much rather “buy once cry once”. I like that there is no yellow reflector in the housing. It’s what is appealing most about these to me.

If you’ve used these, should I add more silicone around the outside?

I do want to stay with a regular reflector instead of go retrofit FWIW. I did get a really quality set of bulbs from @crashnburn80 and they’ve been great.

I’m just always curious it another bead of silicone on something like these would be sufficient or are the boots around the bulbs and stuff trash?

Just say no to aftermarket headlights. While I have not tried those specifically, aftermarket headlights will be worse than stock. If wanting a darker look, OEM TRD Smoked chrome is the way to go, or do the BHLM on a set of OEM lights.

I personally would never get headlights that Aren’t oem, Better off just throwing yours in the oven. Buy some butyl from Amazon for the channels and some flexshot from Home Depot to go around once the headlight is back together

The critical thing is the precision optics, as focus is everything in a headlight. Aftermarket ones have poor optics and lack of precision focus, which leads to poor beam intensity and poor projection performance.

If your lazy, buy the TRD smoked assemblies and get the best of all worlds. :)

Fiiiiine. If I gotta. I just don’t want the reflectors in the housing and I think the OEM smoked ones have those. If I have to tear into them, I guess I’ll have to if I want best of both worlds.

They're all from the same crap place with crap quality. The adjusters don't even work. Get OEM. I had a set built from ones like you're showing. No good.

    These are OEM. They're great.

This. I bought the one in the OP. The adjuster on the left headlight doesn’t work. The seal sucks. Worst buy ever.
I just sent my oem’s to get customized, I think that’s the best way to go.

I've gone though a couple pairs of aftermarket lights before settling on smoked OEM Pro lights. I bought $130 blacked out aftermarkets and that's exactly what I got. One didn't fit right and neither one put down a beam pattern worth a shit. Take pride in knowing your truck works right and doesn't just look good.

Bad adjusters or loose wobbling reflectors are common. I’ve encountered plenty of those in aftermarket units.

Not sure what color your truck is, but if you do the BHLM, think about doing a color match ILO just doint it in black.
