Because We're Not North Enough To Be NOVA, We're Just Stuck Between the North and the True South

Well, that's terrifying.

 

OK. I need some brainstorming here.

This trailer I am working on does a pretty good job of keeping water out but during a heavy rainstorm some water does manage to get in. I drilled a couple of drain holes in the bottom to keep water from accumulating but that only solves half of my problem.

If I am out on the trail and have to make a water crossing, I'm concerned about water getting back in through the aforementioned drain holes. So I though some kind of a check-valve might be a solution.

I'm envisioning some kind of a plug with a check-valve through the center that you might stick into the bottom of a boat hull. No water could get in while you are on the lake but once you load said boat onto the trailer to go home, any accumulated water would automatically drain out.

Is there such a thing?

 

Sounds like some kind of float or ball valve on the drain ports, not sure the name, but seems simple enough.

 

Also search a Duckbill Valve.

Here's my follow up. Had the CRC done at Sheehy Toyota of Stafford. Not real sloppy but don't know if it is thorough or not. Hope it is. Any way, this took them only about 5 hours.

 

Did they have to remove the bed? Toyota had to do something similar once on my old 1-Gen Tundra which required removing the bed. They totally phuqed up everything.

Happy Saturday guys. I’ve got a fun-filled day planned of planting 5 trees I’ve accumulated over the past few months. I’ve got 3 Crape Myrtles, a Roses of Sharon, and a Bloodgood Japanese Maple. I also bought some tree and bush dirt, since VA is all red clay, so I’ll backfill with that and then cover with some mulch. Last weekend I aerated and this week I put down Tall Fescue seed and some fertilizer. So I’m going to make good use of the rain coming this week!

I know y’all are jealous!

 

Believe it or not, I experienced a miracle.

Within four days of the accident, I regained all movement in my foot with virtually no pain.

I did follow up with the podiatrist last Wednesday; he looked at the X-Ray and said yes, I definitely broke it but he had no explanation as to why it seemed to heal up so fast. So I was able to go to Atlanta.
