Since spring fishing was non-existent, looking forward to an upcoming trip (9/21-9/26) to northern Maine for pond fishing for native Brook Trout to close the season. It's a much needed trip/getaway. Trip report & pics to follow.

I've got 2 new 100m spools of 15lb Amnesia mono in Red and Yellow. I use this for tying up Euro leaders. I'll never use my existing spools. I'll give/ship them to anyone who wants them (lower 48). Any takers? Message me if interested.

Sort of a pay it forward thing...

Took the new rod out for a test and I am loving it. It sent some cubbies like they were nothing. It is so much more accurate.

Took a gamble and ordered a travel rod off Alibaba Express. I wanted something I could use for steelhead/salmon. I do a lot of casting long distances from the boat, so I prefer a lighter rod.

Gonna find out how durable this is next week. For $75 the quality is amazing!IMG_20200926_075020.jpg IMG_20200926_075222.jpg

Guess who drove 120 miles and forgot his fly reel?

    Yeah, that would be me.

Fortunately, these guys loaned me a reel.
They never even asked for ID. Just said leave the reel in the message box if we are closed before you get done.

Not sure if it was a deal or not? Ended up buying a $100 spool of fly line that I was gonna need for the rod I showed pics of earlier.

I dunno and I don't care. I got to fish the Au Sable for 4 hours.

The bikini babes were in full force:)IMG_20160628_155046.jpg

That had me confused. My first thought was when the hell did NY get that close to MI. Glad you had a good time.

If you ever want to drive another 700 miles the West Branch of the AuSable outside of Lake Placid is the finest trout water in the east. I spent many hours chasing huge fish in that section of water. Every once in a while I'd even catch one.

Good info. I wasn't aware of another stream with the same name. Thanks.
