    I don't get the appeal of Gladiator's. They look...odd.

Looks wise (of course IMO) the Taco is leaps and bounds above everything else, of course I do like the Bison Colorado. But other then that...meh.

I looked long and hard at the Gladiator. But I already have a Scrambler. The Scrambler is smaller and much more nimble. Plus you don’t need a computer to fix it.

I think it had an OBD one when new but it went away long ago.

I loved the gladiator when it first came out, but the cost drove me away. If you do get one, have to go Rubicon or jump up to 33s or better pretty quick.

I actually like the retro look (loved my FJ looking forward to new Bronco) but Jeep's asking price for a Rubicon or Mojave is absolutely crazy. It's still a 1/4 ton truck for the price they are asking you can get a really nice 1/2 ton that's will look like a Mercedes on the inside and be about as quiet, very unlike a Jeep. Also add that it its made by Chrysler Fiat, Peugeot and Citroen which is a company of the worlds most unreliable car manufactures. .....I'll stick with Toyota

hmmm...we have opposite views of these trucks...to me the rubicon looks old and crappy. If you like how jeeps look, I don't. plus yota's have better reliability.

One problem the gladiator has, and the scrambler had is that they are deemed pickup trucks. In some states you must pay weight fees, just like a commercial vehicle, on pickups. When the two door unlimited came out they didn't call it a pickup and thus no weight fees. For a pickup the Scrambler and Gladiator are poor approximations. The Scramblers popularity was that some folks figured out that a longer wheel base was better for some off roading. Plus it carried a lot more camping stuff.

Need at least a 2 inch lift and minimum 35 inch tires to deal with the break over angle on the Gladiator. Also, I am not confident a Fiat Jeep will pass the test of time/reliability. That is why I bought a Tacoma. I feel it will last a long time and will get me where I want to go with minimal mods. I do like Jeeps. I had a 2008 JKUR and it was actually quite dependable (140K trouble free miles on it when sold) but then again, it was not a Fiat.

Please don't mention peugeot again. I had a 505 back in the 80's, biggest pos diesel ever built. I think that car was totally self lubricating....just replace all the fluids every couple weeks, and check the diesel fuel.

My 38 yo Jeep is good. My 42yo Ford is good. Biggest problem is people don’t take proper care of machinery. The vast majority of owners only know how to put gas in the tank. They drive until an light comes on then wonder if they should just top off the oil or do that strange thing called an oil change.

Toyotas. More so the trucks. Nissan trucks were also pretty good back then.

First time I took it out in '82. Now it's red (rear ended too many times), taller and in the process of a rebuild.
Here's the reason I bought one.

It's a Jeep thing? You obviously don't have the capacity to understand. That's okay, there are many like you, Jeep owners hold a special place in our hearts where we pity you!

When the 4dr Jeeps first came out I thought they were awful looking compared to the 2dr, over time i’ve adjusted and now I like them just fine (still prefer the proportions on the 2dr better). I understand it’s a capable truck, but the Gladiator is a visual mess. The bed looks like an afterthought stuck onto a jeep body...or like a high end diy farm mod. I think Jeep should have designed a truck instead of just throwing a bed on their existing product, could’ve used some tweaking at a minimum. I predict the body style won’t age well.
