They are all the same. Only people I see wearing it are privates, and “I almost joined” types.

 

5.11 is that around here. Lots of “never servers” dressed like they just got back.

 

Now that I think about it allot of motards would wear them too. We were less than politely informed not to wear overt or branded clothing which aligned with my personal feelings about it before I got there.

 

My daughter goes to boot camp Monday. I've warned her not to be the one wearing that crap, and stay away from those idiots.

 

My father sent me a smoke session every other week, candy, food, cigars, bourbon. He’d write little notes on the outside to make sure I got the extra smoke too.

 

The funniest attempted smoke session I ever witnessed came to a dude whose girlfriend sent him nude polaroids. TI was all “ooooh boy, this feels like PICK-TCHAHS!”

The addressee was AB William Heung. Pronounced “hung,” which we all called him. This is important to know, and comes up later.

“Okay hung, open it.”

He did.

TI made him take every pic out and “show it to the class.” Until he got to one he didn’t want to show. We knew it was pay dirt when the TI gasped “holy shit hung!” His eyes bugged out. “Outstanding! How’d you land her? Got a giant dick or can you part your eyebrows with your tongue?”

Hung quietly said simply “well, I can’t part my eyebrows, so...” and let it be right there.

To his credit, the TSgt Taylor made him pack the pics up and put them in his luggage, but never gave him shit for the rest of basic.

Respect.

I once had a coyote surprise the shit out of me on a land nav course on Camp Pendleton when it scattered out of a bush I was coming up on. I was about 10ft away before it decided to bolt.

 

I just imagined a high pitched scream of surprise.

 

Next time someone says wall to wall counseling is bullshit. Show them the field manual.
