im pretty sure you can, you just have to get the correct locker for your application. you will probably have to get your gear ratio and ring gear size before you order it..

Ive been trying to find the correct one but they dont have one listed on the aussie website and im not sure if the prerunner has the same gear ratio as the standard 4X2 or if the gear ratio changed between 99 and 2001

here is a thread on how to figure out what your gear ratio is. your best bet would be to call them and find out..

Should be the standard 8.4 rearend. Gear ratio shouldn't be a factor.

Yea. I see on thre webpage that it is only 95-99. I would just call Aussie. Or maybe look into a poertrax no slip or lock rite.

yea i thought it was an 8.4 but it seems to be different for every different model such as v6, prerunner vs non prerunner, 4wd so i havent been able to find out the exact size of the ring gear. Hey matic, what kind of bumper is that?

I think the 8.4 is actually refered to as an "8" if i'm not mistaken. I went thru the exact same thing with my "02" prerunner and buying my powertrax no slip. If you go to the powertrax website they list the same as the aussie site. They dont even show my year.
(download the pdf) They just show 95-99 as well but when I called and talked to the guy her said it was "8" even though toyota refers to it as a 8.4. And he hooked me up with a powertrax no slip which I absolutely love.
Call Aussie or powertrax and ask them strait up. The one good thing about toyotas for our year and earlier is they really havnt changed much as far as rearends. I think there 7.5's and 8.4 (which I think is just a 8" rg.) Also your prerunner is basically a 4x4 without the transfer case. Uses the same rearend/frame/brakes/struts/shocks.
Call and ask. I bet he tells you it's the same.

so i called them and emailed them a few weeks ago and they never got back to me. most say that aussie has good customer service but it so far has not been my experience. so i guess i will order the 8 inch 30 spline and if it doesnt fit send it back
