One bitch about buying a new truck is that number goes way back up to around $500 the first year...

$500 would be nice, our 16 F150 was almost $900 new. It was $538 this year. My 96 80 series was $160, but I have personalized blue plates.

I think new diesel pickups are like $1200 or something ridiculous aren't they?

I think so, our office manager just bought a new dmax, she said it was north of 1k by a bit... crazy. Idaho was less than $100 for a couple years on the F150 IIRC, but they have state income tax so...

My registration expired three months ago. Finally ordered an O2 sensor last week to get the CEL off so I can go get it smogged :anonymous:

Registration fees are based on MSRP. When you go register your Ferrari you're going to be shocked.

The number of cars I see without a license plate in Reno makes me feel like an idiot for paying registration. RPD and NHP drives right past them too.

Agreed. Even people I work with will not have one. I would try it to see what happens, but knowing my luck I'd get pulled over the second I got on a main road

Im in double diamond, can't move fast enough away from here once that opens. Going to be quite annoying traffic wise.

After rocking a new F-150 and new focus RS the bluetooth has spoiled me. What's the word on good head units to change out stock for these trucks.
    Any recommendations?

I've been a fan of this Alpine for a budget friendly touch screen https://www.crutchfield.com/p_500ILXW650/Alpine-iLX-W650.html
It's a capacitive touch screen so it responds better than most of the other entry level touch screen plus it does phone mirroring with wired Carplay and Android auto.
Have been using it in my 08 Duramax tow rig for probably a year and a half, and will be putting one in our 2nd gen Taco soon as well.

Know any locals with a mag gray access cab that hates Jeep Gladiators? Some asshat felt the need to yell profanity/hate at the wife and I this afternoon while driving past us pulling out of the Wells Fargo ATM in my JT.
Maybe just :jellydance:??:stirthepot::luvya: Little did they know we own 2 Tacomas too lol

That's really messed up. What's wrong with people. I know of a couple, but they're all down here in south Reno and probably don't care enough about their own trucks to yell hate

He was probably angry after picking up his own Jeep from the dealer after it's 3rd transmission rebuild already and took it out on the Gladiator he first saw. lol

Didn't really take it personally, really just thought the same thing about the guy. Why does anyone feel the need to be that angry that they yell at a complete stranger about their choice of vehicle? Don't like, don't buy it. I know the Yota bunch are pretty loyal to their Tacoma/4runner/Tundra etc but why hate a jeep that bad? Oh well, went about my day but it did catch me by surprise

The newer Jeeps should be better, my JT (and the JL's) have a Aisin manufactured trans in it just like many Tacomas have Aisin Trans
