    Hey All,

Happy Saturday. Hope you are well. Seems like the spiral cable has died. Horn works barely. Once in awhile in the center position and maybe extreme left or right.

Panic button on the fob works and the horn goes wild.

Everything else works - airbag (no codes/lights), radio controls as well as cruise control.

Looking for a 84306-0E010. (The one with all the wires from above)

If you can send me a link, steer me (no pun intended) in the right direction, coupon code, etc.

I've seen prices online from $250-$400 USD

Looking for the cheapest price with tax/ship, etc.

    I would appreciate it.

    Thanking you in advance....

P.S. Only interested in Genuine OEM from Toyota. I've read that some of you have had success with Ebay/Amazon/Rockauto, etc.

Great for you - just not for me.

I get mine off eBay. They have all the Toyota years and versions available.

I'm 5 for 5. They all have worked fine.

I hope this doesn't turn into another OEM vs Asian part thread.

I figure if the OEM where better than Asian, then they should not have failed in the 1st place.

5 for 5? on a 16 year old tacoma. Sounds like they're not lasting long. About 3.5 years per Spiral Cable?

2005-2009 was the recall... 2010-2012 (my year) just a TSB.

I am going to call HQ and see if I can squeeze one out of them.....

I buy wrecked tacomas and tundras. Some need replaced right away, some don't go bad for a few years after I put them back together.

I guess I never made that clear. Sorry. I buy and fix them and drive them. I don't rebuild to resell them. These trucks are my families trucks.

I guess I do sell them when they hit the 300k mark or so.

Regardless, I have no issue with the clock springs no matter where they come from.

The ECU is the brains. If it doesn't like the clock spring, you are getting an air bag light.

Since I look at so many wrecks, I still am amazed at how some wrecks no bags were deployed, yet other minor accidents cause all the bags to blow.

All you can do is trust that the ECU is making the right decision.

I'll post what HQ tells me....lol

All good. Anything can happen with anything....whether it's OEM or from Amazon, etc.....

Just a fan of OEM and hoping someone can hook me up with a dealer link, etc. to a good price...

I'd go with this one. $166, 3yr/36000 mile warranty

    https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=5240103&jsn=3

...honestly, Before i pay $166 for one, I'd by 3 of the $14 dollar Ebay cheapo's and call it a day. They aren't to hard to swap.

Called HQ today. The lovely lady I spoke to was very sympathetic to my cause but bumped to a "senior" rep who shut me down. You're not covered by a warranty or a recall so there nothing we can do for you. We at Toyota care about your safety but at this time we can't help you.

Hey Toyota - I hope when I drive my Tacoma someone cuts in front of me - wait no horn or better yet, someone slams on the brakes in front of me and the airbag doesn't deploy....to quote Faith No More "Surprise You're Dead!!!!" AHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

    So sick of corporate greed!

I found one on eBay for $7. Just got it today. It looks good on the outside. I’ll throw it in this weekend and see if it makes the horn work and not throw any codes.
