ONLY way to know if it has an issue like a bad bearing or leaking seals is having it running on a motor,
    Otherwise it’s a gamble.

Spinning the rotors will only tell you it’s not seized,

You should open it up to see how the thermal coating is,
If it’s worn off or still intact if nothing else,
This supercharger definitely has some miles on it from the photos.

A rebuild starts at 1000 and goes up from there,
I just had mine rebuilt after 80,000 and it cost me 1500.00.

2200 plus 1000 for rebuild if your luck is 3200 plus shipping 100=3300
Plus oil change and what ever parts are not included
= 3500.00 Or 4000.00 if the supercharger needs new rotors or a new snout.

Someone is better buy a new one with a full warranty.

If your asking 2200.00 you better have it tested out on a motor Or have some history

thanks for the info, sold this morning. please delete.
side note, John 1k for rebuild? the rebuild kits are $150 with oil.

I believe if the rotors are tore up then i can see the 1k. With a tore up rotors i dont think you would get the air flow/compression when the rotors spin.

I’m not kicking you but it obvious you have NO IDEA what goes into a rebuild on a supercharger or what parts fail or why,
    Good luck with way

1st of all, you have a 1st gen supercharger,
It’s leaking oil at the bypass on both sides as you can see oil build up.
Probably the nose seal too as it has oil build up there.
This supercharger probably has never been rebuilt because the rotor pack is
still painted from the original paint. That’s a dead give away.
The rotor pack bearings on these early supercharger are problematic and can’t just be pressed out.
The rebuilder actually make a special plate that is used to keep these bearings in place.
    You can’t buy this plate.
Jon Bond I believe has access to the original Eaton bearing, parts at 65.00 per bearing.

Your probably not aware that they don’t make parts for this supercharger anymore.

If you need a new nose snout you can’t find a new one available,
If you need any case parts you can’t get any case parts.
If you need a new nose shaft you can’t get one.
If the rotors scored the case because the bearings failed you can’t a new case.

Over time the nose shaft will wear from the nose seal and will leak with high mileage superchargers.

If a bearing goes out and spins in the supercharger case weather it’s the case or snout it will need to be fixed IF possible.

My snout bearing went out and spun the case out of size and was destroyed.

A used rebuild snout is 400-500 if you can find one without an exchange.

If the needle bearings wear out and the rotors start to wear the back case you then
have a problem with that seal area not fitting and will loose boost.

A rebuild needs to have the rotors thermal coated and the case too.
This is just the tip of what has to be done.
Ahh yes, you have to get the timing 100 percent or there’s another problem with the rotors.
The space between the rotors is like paper thin spacing so that has to be set dead on.

A rebuild is NOT just putting in some bearings,

In some people’s eyes it is,

There is a complete rebuild done correctly and then a rebuild that can be just replacing a seal I guess.

Either way glad you sold it and hopefully it’s solid inside,
eBay has a buyer protection and can return it for what ever reason if they want
or ask for a price reduced after the fact if they find problems later FYI

good info, now lets brake it down a bit. anyone can replace the bearings, and bearing needles i have done it before and you don't need any special tooling. Parts can be purchased "shafts, gears" used from many web sites. nose assemblies are discontinued through the dealership but are available online you just need to do a google search also "i have 2 one used, and one new kit" along with the 2nd gen nose kits. the oil you see by the blow off valve is actually dust from the motor as shown. just wanted to post the correct info so people dont get scared at your post and send there superchargers in for a rebuild at 1k that crazy.

Tell you what, go ahead and replace the rotor pack bearings on this supercharger and do a COMPLETE rebuild with thermal coating and let my know how it goes,

Needle bearings are the easiest thing to do, that’s a n

I have 635,000 miles on my supercharger and have had many issues over those years,
And many rebuilds, I actually know a thing or two.

If you think you know better good luck,

The pulley by the way is WAY to close to the snout, looks like it’s actually pushing up against the snout.
    There definitely a problem there.

Top bypass is definitely leaking oil, that seal needs replacement.

That “dust” probably is the pulley wearing down the the outside lip on the snout?

Supercharger needs some work that’s all, but definitely NOT bolt on and run it!

The pulley, beside that it’s pushing into the snout in that position it is putting the supercharger belt
completely out of alignment with the engines pulleys.
The superchargers snout shaft and the pulley and the belt are all out of alignment with
added stress on each of these parts, also a great chance for the belt to jump off the pulley.

Your funny you have NO WAY of knowing anything because you don’t have it set up
