Hey guys, I am planning a half to full-year trip traveling throughout America. I will be camping and living out of my Tacoma. I would love to hear some suggestions for everyone's favorite parks, states, and things to check out on my trip. I am a fan of less crowded parks and areas where there is more exploring to do. Thanks.

Nice!! I'm actually planning on doing the same thing next year! I'll be going about this time and would love to link up if you're still around. I'll be going for about 5 - 6 weeks. Where are you located?

I have somewhat. I'll be leaving from DC and will eventually hit LA. I have a few spots I'm trying to hit in-between but nothing planned out yet. There is the TransAmerican trail i was looking at though. Might try to buy some maps and go that route. Game plan is mainly to hit National parks. And currently I need to build up my truck a little more in preparation for this trip. I want to be ready for most anything and still be able to confidently hit the trails!

Plan on southern Utah for great National Parks, State parks and National monuments.
Arches Natl Park, Canyonlands Natl Park, Dead Horse State Park, Bears Ears Natl Monument, Grand Staircase Escalante, Capitol Reefs Natl Park, Bryce Natl Park, Cedar Breaks Natl Monument, Zion Natl ParK...whew I’m exhausted. You could spend 6 months doing this and barely scratch the surface! Looking forward to hearing about your journey.

if your itinerary allows, please don’t miss Big Bend Natl Park (Texas) and the whole Big Bend Area.

Interested to hear as others weigh in with their favorites.

Sorry for the late reply. Work has been crazy. I am looking at all the national parks especially the ones less traveled to and BLM land. Thanks, aspreston1 for these spots, I didn't have a few of those on my list so will check them out!

Thompson Grove picnic site is a nice place to stop and camp if you are going through Texas in the far north panhandle. It's pretty quiet out there and it's free.
