Cool. I need to get a real angle finder for this shit since I'll be 4x swapping my daughter's Tacoma too.

Speaking of which, I did a cursory search for a 4x auto trans. I'm looking anywhere from $700 to $1000 for one right now. $700 range is from a 2009 search, with roughly 130k miles on them. Higher is matching the year of my daughter's truck, 2013 and having roughly 80-90k on them. FJ tcase I already know I can get for around $250 to $300. I paid $270 for mine from a 2011 with about 130k on it. Looks new still.

Do I need a 4wd ECU for the trans as well? Or no since it's going to get the manual FJ case?

 

Awesome. So according to that, since I'm roughly at 3 degrees difference now, I should still be OK. Find out next weekend I guess.

 

shoudlnt need the 4x4 ECU if your running no ADD or a aftermarket ADD relay. you'll just want to use the position switches to turn the lights on in the cluster (the cluster should have the 4x4 lights)

 

hard to say what your at without the driveshaft in the mix

 

Oh, good point on the 4WD lights. I'll have to figure that out too I guess. Nice to know they should be there already.

And the FJ tcase has the position switches already there. 4WD, N and 4LO. I just haven't wired mine up yet. I also don't have a N indicator in the dash.

 

no toyotas have a transfer case neutral light that i know of.

 

OK, so it's just a neutral safety switch then I guess.
