I'm pretty damn close to saying fuck it on one myself.

And yeah. Is a shame it's not just a touch wider. But it would looks weird then I think with the roof line.

 

It's more cost for me - spending $7000 on a tent (2x the cost of the 4Runner) isn't generally the way I roll, esp. when I have a perfectly good tent already. And, a GFC still doesn't hang over the tailgate - which I'm not a fan of (though I know you don't mind it). Rather, I'm not a huge fan of the look of a topper.

 

I sort of wonder if they could hang it out 1" on either side of the topper and still have it look just fine. Doing so could also act a bit as a "cover" for the door hinges.

If they weren't so backed up, I'd ask them about it, and even consider paying a extra if they could make a custom width one (it shouldn't be hard - just cut/machine a few pieces a few inches longer than normal). I really hesitate to go back to a foam mattress after experiencing the inflatable.

 

What size is your Exped Dan? The Duo looks like it’s about 41” wide and 72” long, the interior of the GFC is 50”x90.

I have two Thermarest Mondo King 3D pads I’ve considered using in place of the foam mattress, but it’s pretty good really so I’m not that motivated to have to inflate and deflate those every time.

 

Exped is 52” wide. So close! 41” would be fine for one person, but too narrow for 2, I think.

 

Hell 55" is tight for two I think haha

 

Interesting, maybe they’ve changed the design? Dimensions are different on their website. But I agree that 41” sounds a little tight for two.

one extra inch per side might not be too big of a deal, it might bow a little bit but once you’re on it would probably fit fine.

Yeah the GFC is not super spacious for two. We’re both over 6’, so not small people by any means though.

 

Splurged and bought a mid torque 2 impact today for the leaf springs project .

Also while taking my tent off fucked up one tent mount things that slide in the rail. So ordered new ones of those

Yeah long as they are around the S2 pricing by baja or so its fine.

Should be great to fit in the slots of the stock bumper. Hoping I can fit in a pair on devins car too.

I don't see an s2 offered in Selective Yellow, only a white emitter at 5000K with an amber cover.

Also wish that BD would give specs like candela, lux @x meters, and both raw and measured lumen output. It would make it much easier to compare.

 

correct. And yes not amber led just lens.

hardly anyone does that. A) most people don't care B) they'd have to show their stuff sucks worse than people think C)marketing hype wouldn't work anymore.

LightForce had all the specs and I think XVision back in the day. Haven't hardly heard from either of those companies anymore though.




Either way, I'm going to get the SS c2 for fogs on the lil truck and then Im going to toy with my idea of making mirror mounts for ditch lights for some Baja S1 lights. With the LED head lights I'll be setup great for snow conditions and deer spotting.

I also have been looking into flashers for the rigs more to have the fogs be dust light flashers and get a pair for the rear as well to act as chase lights. Think I have a good setup for that in mind.
