Hey all, brand new to the forums and I'm just wondering how well the Taco performs when towing boats. I have a 2018 trd pro taco. I just bought a Yellowfin 24 Carbon elite weighing around 4k lbs fully loaded, trailer and motor probably puts the length around 28ft. Any thoughts?

I’m going to guess you’ll be ok as long as you’re comfortable towing that length. 4K lbs in that form factor is a lot easier than 4K lbs of travel trailer.

PS, you’ll know it’s back there but the Taco likes to rev and below 65 should be no problem.

Are you sure that is all the entire package weighs? I tow a Key West BR 176 with Suzuki 140 and trailer. My package with gas, supplies and what not is around 3000 lbs. Seems like a 24 footer would weigh a good bit more than 4000.

Yea probably 65 max, in town only for now. Our last boat was 21ft offshore with a 25ft trailer. Pulled that one with a 4runner going around 70max. 28ft is a new length for me lol. Thank you for the response bud.

Not 100%. Just going off what the owner said the weight was and I'm not sure if he included trailer weight in that. Ill probably get it cat scaled. It does seem a bit low but the dry hull weight is 2400lbs, not sure if that includes the motor, but if it doesn't I know the 400verado weight 660to700lbs

I looked it up earlier on yellow fin website. I couldn’t figure out for sure by the way they had it listed if 2400 lbs included the motor or not. No matter what, that is an awesome boat!

I would suggest you pull the entire boat, motor, trailer loaded with fuel and gear to the nearest Certified CAT scale.

I suspect you are well over 4000 lb.

Ok so here's an update. I towed the boat from Gainesville FL to Jacksonville, about 100 miles. The trailer has electronic brakes and it pulled fine on S4 with ECT on. I just made sure to give myself some room to stop earlier on the highway. On normal roads with stoplights it was completely fine.

Now the next question is will it launch and retrieve the boat in a boat ramp? I will have to try and update you guys. I have a Tundra on order but it won't get here until mid December so the Taco will have to do for now.

Should do fine at the boat launch, use 4-lo. Mine is 5700lbs and have no problem launching or retrieving, paved or gravel.IMG_20190602_1600045.jpg
