You may want to consider the rope guard, mine got kissed by a rock step in VM, tore one of the rubber pieces off and scuffed the rope thimble a little. Luckily the rope was not damaged. $40 insurance policy IMO

 

I seen that, thought about it but didn’t make the purchase. Maybe I’ll have to consider it now lol

 

Ordered new OEM shackles and poly bushings, Spent some time this afternoon installing Zerk fittings on them. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll be able to free up some time to get them installed.

 

What kinda grease you going with?

 

Probably super lube synthetic grease.

 

I hear he's a fan of a mixture of saliva and "baby making juice." There's good viscosity in this combination and even better heat characteristics.

I’d recommend lard, it’s organic, plus when it heats up it will smell great.

 

Ewwww... My high school math teacher used to bring lard sandwiches to school. I never did figure out if he did it just to get to us or if he actually like it, but we did see him eating one once in a while. So gross.

This weekend we should have been out in Big Bear for the annual San G trip but due to the fires going on we were not able to make it happen. Was pretty bummed out about it but instead @hoarder23 , a non Tw friend and myself ended up taking trip out to Sedona, AZ. We left Thursday evening and ended up meeting @hoarder23 in Buckeye. From there we fueled up and headed out to find a camp spot. For the first night we ended up setting up camp off Schnebly Hill Road. Set up camp, chairs, fire and next thing you know it was around 3:30-4am when we realized we should try to get some sleep. Beers were just going down to smooth.

We woke up Friday morning, cooked up some breakfast, relaxed for a minute and packed up to head to our next location. (Belle just happened to be at the right place at the right time. She was spoiled with meals this weekend)

Friday we headed out to Broken Arrow for some fun and nice views. Took our time and not rushing. Everything went well and only damage was Shay poking himself on a cactus.

After we to a break for lunch. Headed out to Flagstaff to find a camp spot and get ready for some dinner and beers. Didn’t end up staying up to late with being tired from the night before and day of cruising around


Saturday we woke up, had some breakfast and headed out roughly 60 miles on dirt to go visit the Grand Canyon. My wife, my son and myself were all first timers. We were speechless! Just a beautiful site.

After spending some time just enjoying the view, we took a break for lunch and headed back out to Schnebly Hill Road for the last night.

Overall was a great trip, we were able to cover a lot of ground but spend plenty of time enjoying what was being offered. Both my wife and myself both agreed this one is definitely in the memory book!

 

Looks like a relaxing trip. Schnebly, Broken Arrow, and tbe North Rim of the Grand Canyon are all on my bucket list!
