OP: Wakes up Monday morning and finally finds out his team barely won in *OT* with some help. Now he struggles to post a gif 2 days late. Seems about right for UT fans.

 

TN didn't go to OT. But that was a messy game for sure.

I am so happy to have the SEC back! This will be the conference games to watch. Could we have 3 SEC teams in the final 4?

The ACC has played for three weeks, so my summary of where they stand:

1. Clemson. Best team in the country, with the #1 pick in the 2021 NFL draft at QB. Dabo keeps killing it on the recruiting trail, so Clemson will most likely remain a top-5 team as long as he's coaching there.

2nd level: ND and Miami. These teams can play with any of the top programs in any P5 conference. ND has a solid squad, and it appears Miami finally has a good QB. Both can compete with Clemson, but don't think they have quite enough to win, but you never know...

3rd level: UNC, VT, Pitt are slightly below the 2nd level teams, and don't be completely surprised if they can pull off a upset of the 2nd level programs. UNC has played very well from their bowl game until now. VT was down 23 players and coaches, and took a decent NCSU team behind the woodshed. Pitt's defense is no joke, and shut down a very explosive Louisville offense.

4th level: UVA, Louisville, BC, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech. Pretty dang solid programs you better prepare for...

5th (suck) level: FSU, Duke, Syracuse These are the teams you want to play to pad your record. If there was a chart showing suck vs talent, FSU would be at the top corner of that chart. They probably have more 4 & 5 star players than 95% of programs in the country, and haven't won a game, and Miami gave them a epic beatdown Saturday night. If I had to guess, would rank FSU as the 10th best college football team in Florida. Duke has turned the ball over 13 or 14 times in the last two games, so they are a turnover machine. Love Dino, but he's in a tough place to recruit. Kids want to play where it's warm, and not up near the Artic circle.

Will reevaluate again in a few weeks. I'll do the SEC too. Here's a spoiler: LSU will not be in the top category of SEC teams.

Will look to do the Big-10 after they play several weeks...so that will probably be sometime in December. The same for the Pac-12, but that will have to be sometime in January.

 

Because the Vols are relevant?

 

More so than Texas.


I wish they would have put Brian Maurer as our starting QB instead of Jarrett Guarantano. Seams like when ever he gets too much pressure he freezes up and has a hard time doing anything. He is also really inconsistent and IMHO has been ever Since he started at UT.

No worries it is definitely common to forget about them. Their limited fan base only comes out usually in the beginning of the year when they win a few games and then go back to hibernating when they go into their usual slump, that or change the shirts and root for a different team. Most are bandwagon fans and don’t come out until they actually win a game. It is definitely funny when you see them start taking down all of their UT stuff before the season is halfway over.

 

Gave up 600 yards to a Pac-12 coach. So, I guess those SEC defenses aren't so great when you have the coaching and talent to compete?

 

TEXAS is the preferred nomenclature Dude.

 

We have those fans as well when we get a losing streak.They stop wearing Orange/white/grey and stop going to the games.

 

My bad. If they were more well known then I might have known that. Maybe Texas should have a bigger presence and fan base to get the word out.
