Joined to send sock monkey a PM to see about getting some stickers. Working on an 04 Taco. The original owner bought it in 5/04 and rolled it in 11/04. He bought it back from the insurance co and put it in his basement garage until I bought it from him this summer. It only has 8k miles on it and still smells new inside. Can't wait to get it on the road.

Hi John, welcome to TW. Socks's stuff is top notch. The quality is equal to or better then the factory OEM stuff. Greg has no unhappy customers.
Make sure you stick around after the sale and post up some pictures of your rig.

    Welcome from Lancaster/Landisville!!

Are you building a hobbyist truck or looking to put it back on the street?

From what I've seen, PA laws are a beotch to get a reconstructed title.
    Good Luck!!

I hope the guy wasn't hurt!!

About an hour east of Pittsburgh. Near Greensburg.

I don't think anyone was hurt. It was actually his wife, she was by herself and fell asleep.

It will just be for the street. I have done a few R-titles, but none with the new system. So we'll see how it goes.

I had a 90 Toyota extra cab 4cyl 5 sp before that I drove the wheels off. Sold it and got a 99 Dakota 4x4 that I hate. (It's for sale) This Taco will replace it.

I have most of the parts now. Still need a hood in 040 white if any one has one. I'll drive a few hours in any direction to get a good one that doesn't need paint.

I'll try to post a pic or two.

Atleast you have that experience with R titles. PA is a PITA but atleast it'll be safe when it passes all the red tape. Can't blame them for wanting vehicles to be safe.

Looks like you've already got a good start on it already.
Good Luck and keep us posted!

Figured I would update this thread. I finally got it on the road a few months ago. I wasn't in a hurry and looked around for as many parts as I could get in the right color. Still had to paint a few things like the core support and the small filler pieces under the headlights. Never did find a hood in white, and still need to paint the silver one I did get. There are quite a few made in Taiwan parts on it but all the sheet metal is Toyota. Found the complete bed with lights and tailgate in Ohio. Had the TRD Sport decals made with yellow shadows....It's a burg thing. Scored the Trifecta bed cover brand new in the box on craigslist a few weeks ago.
    Here's a couple pics.

Now I'm looking for a small camper that it can handle. What campers are you guy's pulling with your Gen 1's?? This truck has the 5000# tow rating. I really like the Jayco 23B campers. They are around 4000# empty. So I think I'm really pushing the limits with that. Anyone else tow something that heavy?
