Yep, understood, but if his plan was to turn it off and leave it in place, there is some risk there, and if he is still covered under warranty he might as well get the new parts if he converts back...

That sucks. Just make sure you get the block off plates and don't leave your old system in place.

Or get 2011 and earlier headers, no block off plates needed

I'm confused now....in that for sale post it specifically states he is selling because it does NOT block off the rear air injection port.

So do the 05-11 headers work on the 12-15 and block off ALL of the ports on the head? Or is it only specific brands that will work?

I have a 12-15 and would like to add headers at some point when the time is right, that's why I am curious.

It looks like it’s sale pending. I’m pretty sure it’s the right headers and right side valve cover that differ. Engine block and heads are the same across all the years. software differs, but HP tuners can delete the software part of the secondary air injection system, for off road purposes only. Some people use an older ECU instead so there is no trace of this software change.

someone else can chime in if I missed something

I don't know if he was, but I read many guys say it doesn't work. I tried it and it works on my truck. I'm sure certain combinations of parts do have issues, but my setup works.

Yes, I believe those are sold. I'm not looking at the current moment.

But It sounded like in that sale post that It would not cover one of the ports. I already have removed my SAIS because I only use my truck on the track for auotx.....;-) lol

It worked fine on my truck and covered all the ports. My SIA was already removed.

Not sure if it's a requirement but I removed the stock studs and replaced with shorter arp studs. The hole threads needed to be chased out with a slightly larger tap.

^^^which headers did you go with? All this time I thought the heads were different, too. Would be great if all years headers bolt up to a SAI deleted truck...hypothetically.

Yes, I bought an 11 cluster too but as it turned out I did not need to install it.

Older headers will mate up to a deleted sais truck. You just should use the newer style gasket.
For instance- my 2009 truck has pre 2012 spec-u headers with 2012+ gasket mated to heads from a 2015.

This may sound like a dumb question, but, if you disconnect the negative battery for more than 10 min, do you have to re-flash your tune?

@JustDSM told me the tune stays there permanently. In my case I had sent him my ECU but regardless of the method you got your tune it’s permanent in the ECU.
