I’m not a good enough surfer to be able to tell the difference apart from two sets of fins other than if it’s a quad or a thruster. Unless you’re a pro surfer you probably won’t notice that big a difference. Although, I’m sure Laguna boy will tell me I’m wrong

Lol that's exactly what I thought too. I was thinking I'm no where good enough to tell the difference just buy some slap them in see what happens

I will say I can tell the difference between a medium and large fin though. The medium definitely doesn’t hold as well for me. But that’s the extent of my ability to differentiate. I just usually go with the shaper model. I have FCS2 on my ultra joe and fever and I love them. I think I have a futures honeycomb on my quad fish. I can’t say I’ve had any issues with any fins I’ve owned though

Some from my fav spots in Big Sur. Both are reefs, both are lefts, and both can be fun or downright frieght trains

    Pic my teenage daughter took....
I miss this board. Probably the best all around board i have ever owned.
6’4” Channel Islands MSFG2 (machado single fin generation 2)
I rode that thing till it was shot. It went in overhead barrels and 2’ nut high waves

yes, you're right on point! You wouldnt know the diff and alot dont but there are differences between models.
Best advice I could give is see what the shaper recommends and if that info isn't available a "neutral" fin is a good start. Always fun experimenting with new ones and playing around with my Bonzer Center fin now.
    Enjoy the new board!

Days like these are so fun. Good sets for longboards and the fish.

Whoa. I’d love to surf there. Can see why you ride the boards you do. That kookbox would be epic out there. Wish I was closer to waves like this with less crowds than down here by lowers. Great wave but sooooo crowded.

I always loved surfing up there, but the vibe a lot of guys give off is hilarious. Especially fullers. 11/10 dickhead level for a 3/10 spot 360 days a year. I love Garrapata though lol

yeah sometimes its a bunch of peacocking goin on, but i just ignore em. Once they see you can hold your own/surf well they leave you alone for the most part. I had one guy get a bit mouthy once and asked him to paddle in with me and we can talk about his feelings. He was all bark....he didnt want to take me up on that and shut up.
I go down there to get away from crowds and egos so usually if it gets like that out there i just go find another spot. There are so many places down there especially if you dont mind being alone except for sharks lol

oh believe me, it gets crowded here. Its not like it was 15-20 years ago.
Thankfully i work rotating 12hr shifts so im off on weekdays alot...once all the desk jockies paddle in around 8:30 or 9 then its empty most days. I avoid weekends like the plague
