No worries Rob, I did put it in the freezer and stuffed some plastic in there. I even remembered to pull the plastic out!

 

The long story: I’ve been intermittently leaking an “oily” fluid from somewhere since the spring. It was hard to trace due to everything under the truck being covered in “Fluid Film”. Checked all the fluid levels nothing was unusual. I pressure washed the underbody and have occasional checked. It’s only started to be noticeable enough to identify the front diff driver seal as the leaker. Since I’m in there anyway, I’ll be doing the ECGS needle bearing mod. I got a few quarts of Valvoline Syn 75-90 ordered and will drain and fill. Mobil1 75-90 got expensive.

Happy to help. I think that’s the same I put in with the oem fluid. I’ll do a full flush at 1year or 10k miles. Maybe a little longer than 1 year, I don’t want to work on that in January lol. Good plan for the seal and good luck.

I’m not sure how your taking it apart but I didn’t remove the hub nut and was still able to replace it. Might not have been the easiest but it is a method. I only had to remove the 2 bottom knuckle bolts to get it to move far enough once the cv started to move out of the diff. I set the hub assy on a jack stand to keep it where I wanted.

 

Rob. ECGS bushing and seal ordered. I’ll let you know when I have an ETA. However lately, I find all shippers estimates sketchy.

@RobP62 I checked their website, they had a couple 3 series and some Audi’s on there a few days ago. No M3’s though.

 

Unfortunately I'm not able to buy the 45acres behind my property because the seller decided to sell it all together with her cabin & the 10acres that it's on, $215k for 55acres. But I am buying the 5acres in front of my property that touches my gate for $14k, so that will put me at 21acres. I wouldve liked to have that 45 behind me tho.
