Looks like a ‘Cicada Killer Wasp’. We have one at the house here that burrowed next to the walk. They leave you alone unless you mess with em and even then they wont sting you unless you grab and try to smoosh em.

I’m looking to pick up a miter saw for around the house projects. I’m not looking for a top of the line model but something decent. Any one have a good recommendation?

    Thanks

That's a great compound miter saw. I'm a carpenter by trade and mine hasn't had any issues in 4 years of service. My old DeWalt hadn't had many issues either in it's 15 years of service but as tough as DeWalt is it turns out they can't survive a 30' fall off a deck. lol

That's the one. Got my military discount back when I got it and was out the door around $500 with the rolling/folding Delta stand. $399 aint bad. They have the light now too where you can see the blade, I had to get a laser that mounts into my arbor. First world probs.

I can vouch for that saw, have had for 11 years and price was $699 then. I saw it on sale for $320 at my local Home Depot weeks ago and almost cried haha. I was there to pick-up the little 7-1/4 battery saw they have out now, that little guy is a good buy too.

They also make a fine miter saw.

The only one I'm not fond of, and I really wanted to like, is the new Bosch. It's got an innovative pivoting arm system instead of the slide rail. In theory it's a smoother system because there's not as much friction to overcome when sliding into the cut. In practice it's smooth as butter. The problem comes after about 1000 cuts. The pivot system has just enough play in it that it doesn't cut it for stain grade. If they can find a way to eliminate that play it will be my next saw.

I have a few Makita LS1013 sliding compound mitre saws I've had forever , still going strong and are still accurate with minimal maintenance in the last approx 20 years , I also have a Makita 12" non sliding compound mitre saw we use as a framing saw . When my shop is finished I'm planning on putting a Festool Kapex in there

What kinda of toilet repair are we talking. I find it’s easier to just keep a stick handy to break the turds apart as the whole clump usually won’t go down till after 5-6 flushes. Seems like a waste of water, bad for the environment.

As a plumber I love Toto commercial products due to not having to repair one yet. As far as residential Toto I can’t stand them due to factory parts can only be purchased from one place and sometimes not in stock. That’s why I don’t buy them anymore. I just shop 1000 gram per flush toilets.

Garage door springs, how do you know which replacement spring to get? Mine look to have a small dot of black paint on them but Lowe’s is not showing that color code. I found the install instructions (instructions cover 5 different models) but can’t find the receipt to know which model I have. The door is 9’x7’, 4 panel, single spring on each side, and insulated.
