There's a Titan museum here in Tucson. It's the whole silo. You can actually do an overnight stay there too. Well, pre-covid you could. I still need to go check it out sometime.

I saw an old beater Subaru on a trail once doing a 3ft+ deep water crossing with a PVC pipe snorkel

Yeah, I mean the real deal snorkels are thin plastic anyhow. I see no issue doing a PVC pipe snorkel. Just paint it black so it isn't so obvious.

 

I’ve always made it a point to try and visit there one day. Pretty cool place to visit, if you do the top to bottom tour which they offer rarely you can tour the other nine levels of the silo and Level 1 and 3 of the control center. They usually only take you to Level 2 of the control center, and the main level of the silo.

 

True, though I guess there's might be something to be said for the snorkel design as far as airflow and ejecting water from under the head goes, supposedly that's how the ARB one works. But for a beater on the trails I don't think any of that matters. Just wanna make sure however you seal it off to the air intake is good and has no leaks

 

They are completely shut down for Covid unfortunately. So gotta wait until the re-open their doors. Hopefully that happens still.

 

If you mean the launch doors they had to put big ol’ concrete blocks in the tracks so they’re stuck halfway open as a part of the denuclearization treaty haha.

They’re a branch of the Pima Air and Space Museum so they have some help. Hopefully they’ll make it through.

 

There's various diameter flanges you can get. You could seal them to the fenderwell hole with DIY rubber gaskets. Probably be better at keeping water and dust out than the real thing if done right.

Maybe I'll explore this if I can hide it under the fender still...

Didn't know they were associated with Pima Air and Space, that's pretty cool. That's an amazing museum in itself, I've been to that a couple times.

I plan on driving up to Arkansas one of these days and visiting the two sites that have been opened up out there, maybe I’ll pass through Arizona and hit up the museums.

Well that sucks, was looking forward to the frozen Mac n cheese I bought last Friday and kept in the mini fridge at work, but apparently the fridge died over the weekend lol.

Right? I don't care how clean it is.. Whoever willingly wants a bench seat over buckets either doesn't drive their truck for extended periods or gets alot of "road action" lol
