I've got a set of OR coils and shocks that I would be happy to part with. They have about 80k on them.

well I guess its a good thing my rear shocks showed up, while installing I found that my rear drivers shock was completely blown out... MRA's are in now, have to get a tap tomorrow as I broke the one I had.

What do you need the tap for?

the remote resivoirs for the new rear shocks, the mount is a universal, bolts into the frame, so I drilled and tapped some holes, I attempted to use my drill in low speed instead of tapping it by hand and snapped the tap.. I of course used some fluid film on the exposed metal, and then painted the bolt heads black...

That'll be nice. For the kings, they bolt into holes on top of the frame and the driver's side is PITA!

At SR-71A's suggestion I'm dropping lurker mode to say hello  I've recently returned to Maine to be near family after 18 years away; drove my 2019 OR back from California. Grew up in Solon and that's where I'll be through the winter and likely well into next year or longer.

On that note, I'm snow tire shopping and thinking about pulling the trigger on Blizzak DM-V2 245/75R16s. It seems like those are popular across the forum - anyone running those in Central/Northern Maine?

Alright, who's got the silver lifted Access Cab 3rd Gen on Cooper ST Maxx's in Gray? I drove past that truck 9-10 times over the last couple of weekends and it's pretty sharp.

No, but the wholesale company I work for sells them and we've had good feedback from the retailers on them. Apparently they're fairly quiet (for a dedicated winter tire) and have some pretty excellent grip.

I’m from Farmington and now in Fort Kent way at the top of the state. My family runs Nokian Nordman or Hakapelita studded tires and they are insane. My mother has Nordman SUV 4’s on her pilot and the thing will climb a vertical ice rink. I work for the local ambulance here in town and all of our rigs run Hakapelitas in the winter and they are amazing. I had a pair on my ranger and they did really well and that’s what I’ll be putting on my Tacoma this winter. They really excel in loose snow and hard picked ice roads.

Welcome back to the state and to the thread! I followed your posts on the thread you started about coming to Maine. Most of the winter tires produced have the same or similar tread. I have tried several different brands and have been pleased with each of them. Blizzaks have a good overall reputation and I am sure they will serve you well. Since your truck was likely bought in CA and therefore may not have all of the salt protections :)rofl:) that the northeast sold trucks do, I would seriously consider a healthy application of Fluid Film or something similar. There are places around that apply the stuff and a TW member in MA that typically hosts application "parties" and charges a very reasonable price for the application. I think that @Spare Parts has been to one of them and can probably help me with my aging memory in regards to who it is that does the application.

Yes, been to a couple now, but it’s a long drive to Mass. We need to set something up here in Maine. I got a gallon of Fluid film and their spray guns, but no compressor. I also just got 12 cans of Woolwax that I plan to hit the vehicles with.

Thank you! Great call on the Fluid Film; I did buy the truck in California, it's never seen snow and I've been fretting over the incoming salt-assault. This seems like a great solution.

Also kind of a lurker here, but I'd definitely second the fluid film. I bought my '05 in Nashville 2 years ago, pretty pristine underneath at the time. I didn't know about FF at the time, but now I'm doing it twice (or so) a year. Best part is buying myself a compressor to apply it!

I have a 30 gallon compressor, and air hose, just not the best place to do it in (dirt/gravel driveway) working on building a garage, and installing a lift next spring..

I have an ok paved drive way, live on dead end road and even have a pit across the street for those that want that fresh dirt coating.

I'll bring the compressor and a gallon or two of FF to do my Tacoma and my wifes new to her 2017 4Runner, I also have a few cans of spray floating around..... Sundays are preferable... I also have a pair of plastic service ramps

I coated my truck and myself with WoolWax on Sunday. I have a gravel driveway which added to my filthiness. Second year doing it. Hopefully will be worth it in the long run.

One of the last times my truck was in the yota service, my service advisor told me to stop doing what ever I was doing to my frame so they could replace it down the road. I was shocked, and very happy to say, I’ll keep on doing it.
