    I ordered these without considering thread depth...but shorter would make sense here. Its not a deep thread.

    I would go rounded neck. Not hex. I think its tight between the fitting and the plastic, and honestly if you're tightening these down with a wrench you're doing it wrong. No reason to put a wrench on something bolted to plastic. Thread lock if it won't hold.

    what @Littles posted is the one that has been used for this mount. the holes are roughly .6250 deep to allow some space for the tap it will be roughly .5" worth of thread give or take it will be plenty long enough for the 1" ball UNC 1/4-20 thread.
