    I'm pretty sure it's from late 1800's - early 1900's.

    Story Time with Gritto

    or

    Gritto Snaps Becomes a Survivalist :eek:

    So the continuing run on AR-15s and ammo is just astounding.
    Or maybe not so astounding given recent events?
    I always kinda scoffed at AR-15s...like "What am I gonna use it for?"

    For the Hell of it, I watched a few YouTube videos...then a few more.
    Uh-oh.
    Now I want one. :annoyed: Just cause I want one. Do I need a reason?

    Anyway, selection is pretty sparse, most models being sold out, on backorder.
    It's difficult to get one with the features you want at a reasonable price.

    So I decided to build one.
    Ordered all the parts today from Palmetto State Armory.
    Upper and Lower receivers, complete. Plus Charging Handle, Bolt Carrier Group and Mags.
    It's in South Carolina, BTW.

    @McRib

    Then ammo.
    Man o man, if ARs are scarce, ammo is ridiculous.
    But I have 100 rds of Russian steel case 62 gr FMJ on the way, and 200 rds of brass re-manufactured 62 gr FMJ.
    Which should be enough to dial in the firearm.
    62 gr cuz that should work okay with a 1:7 twist barrel.

    Anyway, that's been taking a whole lot of my time lately.
    A crash course in AR-15s.

    I wonder how many of you have a similar story?

    If I had to guess, I bet Dennis has built a few.

    @buckhuntin-tacoma :confused:

    Pics to follow, but who knows how long it's gonna take for all that shit to get here.
