I couldn’t find one with the HO and Aisin. Not sure I want one with the extra maintenance on the Aisin.

That’d be the only way I’d get a ram is with a diesel. I had one with a hemi for less than a month and traded it in. Check engine light came on less than 1 week

800lb of torque is still bad ass. You’re basically driving a highway tractor

What extra maintenance does it require?

I wouldn’t have one without the diesel. Saw a used one online 2016 With the Cummins in it. $30k. Had 485,000 miles on it.

From what I was reading more frequent fluid/filter changes. It also doesn’t shift as smooth the the 68rfe.

Yeah it’s ridiculous. I went with a ford gasser instead. I love diesel power, but the crackdown on deletes/tuning earlier this year has all but made that option extinct making me look towards older diesels if I ever need one

I’ve owned a Jeep. It was the most fun piece of shit vehicle I’ve ever owned. I personally would never buy mopar. The drivetrain will outlast that truck. I’m not here to shit on anyone’s parade. If he’s happy and loves his truck, that’s all that matters.

You can still get stuff to delete them it’s just done more quietly now. Seen a few that have gone to private membership to buy products.

Yeah I thought I saw that for one of the more recommended Cummins guys. Ironically, it was the egr that failed on the gas truck I bought to avoid emission issues in the first place.

Well neither of the big 3 are really my choice but Toyota really has no option in that market. Unless you go to a commercial medium duty chassis with the Hino for the Toyota diesel. I liked the Cummins and the mega cab is like having a extra room you travel with back there. Fold the seats down and you could put a twin bed back there.

Yeah i would never have to leave Toyota if they would at least beef up the payload numbers on the tundra.

The Cummins is by far the best engine. If I were in the market for a diesel that would be it. I’m just saying the motor would last much longer than the Fiat it’s built under.

Manual was saying max 5th wheel was 25k lbs. believe it’s 15k on the hitch. Either way, that’s a lot of camper. I’ll just be happy to not have to fill up 4 times on a trip to Florida and not getting 8 mpg.

The tundra numbers just aren’t there for what they’re marketing it as. Plus that 5.7 loves a gas station. Buddy has one and consistently got 13 mpg.

Oh I’m sure. I’ve got to go get a 12” drop draw bar tomorrow to be able to even hook the camper to it. The camper is a spring over too.
