If they are not full winter tires, they are not good enough for North Bay.

We get weeks straight of -30C easily each winter. True winter tires are required here.

I would suggest @TacooSaucee get studded winters. I will never get winters that are not studded ever again. They are AMAZING.

My thoughts exactly, some of the past few winters have been pretty bad. Studded can get annoying though, not sure if I'd go that route.

I have studded on my wife's CRV that is our DD.

I will never go back, who cares about a little hum on the highway, turn up the radio.

You are so much safer with studded. Safety 1st.

The LT versions are snow rated. The P-metric or standard load (SL) versions are not. For the Adventure A/T, Goodyear only offers the SL version in the stock size (265/70-16).

It would be advisable to sell the stock tires on your own and get tires you want (and in the size you want) rather than attempting to negotiate it into the truck sale. The dealer may refuse to go up in size (e.g. 255/85-16), and the specific tire may be backordered several weeks.

I've not used the Good year wranglers for the winter, I picked up a set of new KO2s a month before the snow hit.
i still have them but they're up for sale in the stock size, has the snowflake on it so it's considered a winter tire but if you're out in North bay, go with what the locals use.

I been out here forever, but coming from a two door car it's quite the change, I'm sure my stopping distance will be doubled. Maybe I should take @llamasmurf 's advice on studs.

    Only good things I've heard about stock tires is;
    good gas mileage,
Better than they thought for traction but still sucked.
    Really sucked off road.
    Really sucked in mud.

If the dealer does not have the AT3W's you might also want to look at Duratracs, I see some dealers have those in their available tire options. Only complaint I've heard of the Duratracs is they have weaker sidewalls so are not good for climbing sharp rocks when aired down. But for everything else people have been raving about them (I like them).

0W20 synthetic oil in these trucks makes a block heater not as important and I noticed that at -30 the truck the truck had no issues starting. -50 might be different though..

IF it were me and I had to choose which one from the dealer...
I'd go for the block heater (for a North Bay area) because tires you can probably get a better deal getting a set of tires off Kijiji or a Tire place vs what you could ever negotiate from the dealer and most dealers will only put stock sizes on, and you may want to look into Pizza cutters (255/85/16).

Must not have read my post about gravel roads...that must be why I haven't been kicked from the group yet :p

I appreciate the advice! I think you're right about the block heater for sure.

Hi everyone and thanks for the add. Here's my 2018 TRD Off-Road that I traded in a couple weeks ago. I got a 2020 TRD Off-Road in MGM that I'll have some pics of once it's ready.

It was mostly on a whim. I got a lower finance rate (0.99% vs 3.49%) and I worked a TRD Pro grille into the deal. Unfortunately the warehouse wouldn't release the grille even to the dealer, so they took the cost of it off my total.

I kept everything except the mud flaps. Aside from what I mentioned above I also wanted a different colour + remote start.

Heritage grilles are set to only be released to VIN numbers for TRD PRO models. We can no longer buy them from the dealer as of early last year or so.

    but nice!
the finance rate is a good deal, but all that for just a remote start and a different colour? /s

Jokes aside, enjoy the new truck when you get it!
the remote start is the best thing i've added to the truck for the winter, however mine is from @N2DesignsInc

Haha I've been set on the grille for a while and I knew how difficult it would be to get, so I thought I would have some leeway with the new truck. I ended up ordering one from Taco Garage.

Are those the Rokblokz? How did you like them?

Thanks! From what my salesman told me, the warehouse needed a VIN and a warranty claim number for them to release the part. I don't think it would have been an issue if it was solely the VIN.

TRD skid-plate, Cali raised trail edition rock sliders, Diamondback HD cover, Cali raised bed stiffeners, 265/75/R16 BF KO2’s, extended rear diff breather mod, demon shackle mounts, factor 55 hitch receiver/recovery point,
Some of the features for the 2020 really made me pull the trigger on it, not to mention the killer finance rate they offered with the loyalty reduction, I was able to get mine at .49% for 6 or 7 years. No remote start for the manual trans but I can live with that :burnrubber:, welcome to the club!
@TacooSaucee well I guess I swing that way lol :bananadance:
