How much did adding a two story parking garage to your house cost?

For a while (during the fire) there was supposedly a road closure at the Summit 1 campground for the road that heads down the hill and into Long Valley. IIRC the closure was supposed to expire mid September.

I was pulled over in Carson for a headlight and they told me to put my front plate back on. "It's a two plate state," the officer said, proud of his little rhyme. Still haven't put it back on and no other officer has given me shit about it.

Man, I wish I had a big garage/shop! But truth is I just have a small 2 car garage our trucks dont even fit in. Good thing I have a wide driveway and side yard parking next to our garage.

I haven't ran a front plate in the 10 years I've lived here, never been hassled.

Although now that I put that out there I'll probably get pulled over later this week for no front plate. lol

Must run plate if you have a bracket for the plate, otherwise not required.

I know several who have been ticketed for not running a front plate but they all had a spot.

That's good to know. If you look up the law as it's written, apparently you're only required to run a front plate if the manufacturer provided you front bracket or mounting holes.
Darn, must not have gotten a bracket from Toyota when I bought my new truck. Shame.

Funny story, the front plate used to be required period, no manufacturer exemption.

Growing up in Battle Mountain I interned for the sheriff's office my senior year and got to spend a few weeks working in the jail. One of the deputies in the jail drove a 2000ish Trans Am WS6. Being a small town, she for whatever reason had beef with a highway patrol guy. He would hassle her constantly and write her tickets for no front plate. So she took it to court and because it was going to cost like $1200 for a new bumper and paint, to accept a plate in the front, it was considered an undue financial burden on the vehicle owner just to add a plate. So the law was changed. There's your useless info for the day...

Too many to list, and I've probably forgotten a bunch.
Who here owns a SxS? (I'm expecting to see a dozen hands go up). TL;DR - want one, done lots of online research, still don't really 'get' what good brands/models there are (or what the typical weaknesses are of each brand/model). Willing to be educated on the subject, if anyone cares to help out.

Pondering new (Polaris and Yamaha seem solid; Honda does too, but $$), willing to consider used. 2 seater would probably be best for my family and needs.

Theres a ton out there, we'll need to narrow it down to a few models based on your use... So what would you be buying it for mainly? Sightseeing/leisure trail riding? Some work around your property/chores/hauling and going hunting? Just going fast and playing in the desert- lots of power and suspension? Something powerful enough to get rowdy, but still capable of going slow and bring along a bit of camping gear?
    Next- budget?

Can Am commander max here. I like it for the most part, it's kind of a mix between sport and utility. It does pretty good, the high point is definitely the seats. The seats are the most comfortable thing I've ever sat in. All day riding is not a problem. My issues with it are the cab is hot and noisy, because it's still mid engine essentially. And the rear ground clearance is terrible. Ive had a few warranty issues but Michaels took care of them. If you have any other questions or want to take it for a spin let me know.

A few weeks back the gate to the boat launch at stampede and all the trails to the lake were closed because of the fires/fire danger. It was closed until at least 7/21.
