i had to trim the handle for it to fit better.

 

I trimmed the pillar pod not the handle so the mod would be fully reversible without having to buy a new handle if need be.

 

that was my faux pas. 34$ for a new handle. now i have more exter parts....

Alright any computer guys on here? I got a hp stream to tune with nothing else. And I can’t download the newest version of hp tuners cuz it can’t delete the old one it says. Don’t ask I dunno. And I tried to do a factory reset and says that it doesn’t have enough storage. I’ve asked my computer guys at work and they are dumb founded. Deleted everything off the computer and still
No storage. I guess I just need a new laptop.

Since @12TRDTacoma posted about his transmission flush I have gone down the rabbit hole served up by Gearcruncher. Holy hell. So when I get to it later in October, it will be with the DIY flush (https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/diy-full-flush-for-automatic-transmission.68462/) using the Maxlife, Anyone in here knowledgable about LubeGuard? Gearcruncher is pretty big on it, but didn't see anyone else chiming in.

 

I pinged him yesterday, with zero response.

 

i used the maxlife. Happy with it. Do yourself a favor and make a larger pump before you do it

Thats a big step up from the bottle pump I was planning to use!

 

If it's what I'm thinking it is (admittedly I have not looked into Lubeguard, but from what I remembered reading or at least what I thought I remembered reading) Lubeguard is a band aid meant to mask problems of a poorly performing transmission. Namely your torque converter with the so called "shudder" these trucks have. If your tranny is in good shape then it won't be an issue with just running regular old ATF.

 

I use it. It allows extra heat to be added to the system without it burning. I think the band aid 12trdtacoma is talking about is the dr tranny instant shudder fix which gets tossed around in alot of the same conversations

 

New headgaskets, timing chains in, need to do oil pump rotors and seal her up. Also finished cutting the stanchions on the wrap mod. If anyone needs one, maybe I can ask the shop to do a few at a time. Best to wait for my testfit to proceed on fitdament

Do you recommend cutting the snout while it blower is off the engine?

Also, how long does it take to cut the snout?

I'm going to combine this task with an S/C service and cam gear swap.

 

You can cut the snout with the blower removed and it would keep the shavings out of the engine bay, otherwise not much of a difference. If you use a power drill on a lower speed setting, you can cut the snout in 20 minutes or less.

As an aviation guy, shavings were one of my bigger concerns. With the cam gear swap, I'll have the blower off anyway.

I'd prefer to use my drill press, but I doubt I can get the RPMs low enough. I have plenty of hand drills laying around.
