Hello All, I have a 2019 DCSB 4x4 OR. In July my truck started acting up, I finally took it in near the end of the month, and they confirmed it was under the recall list and that was the root of the problem; it has been 2 months and I still have no truck and no date. I have taken the vehicle to a local dealer, their service overall has been great, yet corporate has no fix. I just got off the phone 09.29.20 withe Toyota Customer Experience Center out of Texas, the customer service lady said that there still NO remedy, this means there are not even parts built. Do you guys know anything about this? Any info you can provide? Thankfully I get a rental however, I am paying for a truck I cannot drive.

    Thank you,

    Andy

TSB notices came in early this year but those were just to tell you they were aware. In March I was told to wait until the remedy notice comes in. Due to the pandemic, I'm certain that's why things are on the back burner.

Just here to say good luck to you. I could not imagine being in that predicament. When I was searching, there were many used 18/19s they would not sell due to the recall on the fuel pump.

I wonder how long until this would fall under a lemon law scenario?

Honestly, I rather have my truck back. The time and money I have in it by now is too damn high.

I just got my tundra fuel pump replaced yesterday. I believe they are doing Tacoma’s now as well.

No different for the diff recall of 2016/2017. Some trucks were held for well over 100 days. Most were around 2 months sitting on dealer lots.

this was a large reason i traded out of my taco earlier this month and went with a titan pro4x. wasn't the only reason and i won't bore you on that. my old taco is still for sale at the dealer where i traded it. they keep reducing it. started at almost 40k. now it's 38k. LOL.

On the tundra, there was some issue with the plastic impeller so that it would swell and then break. I don’t know if the tacoma is the same issue or something different (I’d assume they are all the same).

I've read on another thread the impeller and plastic density break down was due to ethanol gas

If you want your truck back now politely ask they put in a new "bad" pump and drive it until the fix is available. It's a pretty low number that have truly had the issue so you'd likely be fine until the updated pump is out.

Well that sucks. I remember on here where they did that for someone else. Wonder if their tune has changed since the fix is so close.

I grew up in an 80's Toyota Truck Big Red I called it, thankfully not conceived in one. I owned a 95 Tacoma, and now a 2019, it bothers me so much that I am considering it.

Call Toyota corporate again and ask if you can have the truck towed to an independent shop to have an aftermarket pump installed, then get reimbursed. :notsure:
