@Sparky. that is a serious bummer, glad you weren’t hurt. I hope they catch and prosecute that asshole.

I’m not going anywhere. I fully intend to bring my next blasphemous rig to one of the next local monthly meets, once that is a thing again.

The Broncos look sweet, but I need a truck. I ordered Jeep’s new Gladiator Mojave 8spd desert racer and will be installing Magnuson latest 440hp supercharger. Truck is due in within the next week and planning on the supercharger in December.

Hope you guys can accept a turd f-150.....
Or a Cummins....... not sure either one would do well at a meet up. If I didn’t need a truck I would seriously consider waiting for a bronco but you know.... duty calls

Don't think you could go wrong with either an F-150 or a Cummins.... Just don't go with Silverado. I drive a 2019 Silverado for work and I really question the reliability. The trucks a year old and it's had five recall's along with a sensor for the brakes that went out.

When my taco was totalled from being rolled, I ended up going to PT for my back. My lower back is still screwed up and November will mark 4 years since then. Don't just settle for any PT either. If you go someplace and they don't take care of you like you think you need, go elsewhere.

    1. Make sure to not let insurance cut you too little for your truck, pending it is totalled. When they offer $18,000, tell them you can't touch a truck with the same setup for under $25,000.
    2. My taco got totalled, then I got into a half ton dodge, and since then sold off that truck and gotten a 96 2500 Cummins. You wouldn't be a first. I still want to get a dedicated wheeling truck too, but money has other places to go for now, and I'm about to have less of it coming in.

I took my 2006 dodge 1500, hemi 5.7 v8 on the line against a coworker with 2011 ecoboost turbo v6 f150. He must have been about 400-425 horsepower. I couldn't take him off the line or from a roll.

I fully understand the needing a truck thing. I live on 10 acres with goats, horses, cats, dogs, and wifey. I also have a fireplace that gets used during the winter, so I'm getting wood often enough. I am also an electrician, and may allegedly do side work, which may entail loading my truck with tools and materials.

From experience, the half ton rides a lot smoother than the 3/4 ton, at least for the years I've had. I also showed up to a TW wheeling trip in my diesel dodge, and that led to me getting 5 new tires and a new rim for my truck.
By fuel economy, my 96 diesel (about 16 regularly) does better than the 06 gasser (16 on the freeway cruising 60 down hill with a tail wind). In going to larger tires in the diesel, I have lost a little fuel economy. Now I'm slightly below 16.

Very helpful, sounds exactly like the path I’m headed. Been watching videos of the 3.5 EcoBoost and it’s damn impressive but I’m planning on getting a travel trailer so I’ll probably go diesel.

you do residential or commercial electrical?

The ecoboost can handle something like 10000 lbs of trailer. Look for the automatic with the 7 or 8 speed transmission. Fuel economy when not towing and not getting the turbo spooling up. Bigger fuel economy losses from gas than diesel though.

I'm currently a low volt electrician, but getting back into apprenticeship to get my full license for commercial. On the side, I may have done some of everything.

Guessing a lot of your work is in the Spokane area..... is construction busy over there for electricians? I want out of Washington and would be willing to commute into Spokane from where I have family in Idaho.....

Nothing too exciting... maybe a little rust
Started the next phase of getting my truck back to being trail ready again. I didn't realize quite how flimsy these things were until I put an air hammer to them.

I've only had a couple hours a night to do it after work so hopefully I can get it done by the end of the week and be back up and running
