Pros and cons of the ScanGauge vs Ultragauge boyz?

 

I vote ultragauge. Cheaper, bigger screen, and I see it recommended more often than scangauge

 

I like Scangauge because i programmed my trans temp into it. I think you can also calibrate it for bigger tires. And i have this mount that puts it away from the dash

 

I had the SG first. It's compact and kinda hard to read. The only pro I found was that the cable can unplug from the unit itself which makes routing it easier. It's just a CAT5 cable.

I switched to the UG mainly because you can set an audible alarm. For example, mine will beep at me if the engine temp gets over 220 degrees. I wanted this because my truck is old and has minor cooling issues. It saved my ass one time when the coolant got too low and the temp started rising. It kept me from warping the heads because I was able to shut my truck off in time. The display is also way easier to read and keep an eye on.

I’m half blind and use reading glasses, so the larger screen and audible alarms are the deal maker.

Direct from them. Figure out where you want to mount it and order that at the same time as well. If you're not sure, order a couple different styles. They're cheap and it'll save you on shipping. I have mine mounted center, right above my radio. Easy to see and doesn't obstruct my view at all.
