Car polish (maguires) will remove spray paint! Or you can use alchohol for the rubber trim.

Here's what I'd do in order...

    1. Quickly try wax (or a polish like Zaino)
    2. Try clay bar and soapy water
    3. Try very light rubbing compound
    4. Try medium duty rubbing compound (press lightly)

If you use ANY rubbing compound, don't press hard and follow up with wax or polish afterwards to remove any clear coat scratches.

I'd try some goo gone, then maybe some nail polish remover, there's non acetone and acetone based stuff, try the non acetone first. Modellers use the non acetone based stuff to remove painted on writing and stuff without harming the finish underneath. I know goo gone has worked real well on overspray for me in the past.

It'll be a little slow but it's better than using something super harsh and taking the truck's paint off too. Maybe use a microfiber rag and preferably a garage or at least a shady spot so the stuff has some time to work before it dries off.

What's working in your favor is the truck paint is well and full cured and applied to a prepped substrate and then there should be a wax layer between that and the spray paint. My best advice would be start with something real gentle like above then slowly work your way up to harsher methods if these don't work. Do not use a paint stripper and I'd avoid any kind of sandpaper, it's way too easy to wreck the finish on the truck. Here in town once one of the auto parts guys told a customer to use aircraft paint stripper to remove some pinstripes and the poor customer listened then proceeded to remove the paint right to the metal from headlight to taillight.

Whatever you try though first try it in a hidden area like under the front valance or something and make sure it doesn't damage the truck paint. Oh, and once you get it off you'll want to rewax.

You can try prep sol, it is available from any paint jobber. (always try a small unnoticable spot first)
A body shop or detail shop should be able to point you in the right direction.
Calling your insurance company would be a last resort depending on your what comrehensive deductible is.

someone spray painted my wife's GTI a few years ago. they hit a small parking lot in front of a pretty busy business.

you can try mineral spirits for the paint and prepsol for the trim. neither will hurt anything.

at any rate, it's definitely not the end of the world, any competent professional detailer will be able to get it off. call around and see who has experience with such vandalism removal.

acetone works well but you have to act fast and dont keep it on the truck for more than a few seconds to minimize effect on clearcoat and trim pieces
