    I think you just figured it out :bowdown:. You made me have an a-ha moment and now I feel quite dumb. Here's what happened: There is a catch can installed that runs from the PS valve cover into the can, and then down through an air check valve and into the exhaust. At least that's how it was set up. When installing everything after the rebuild, I noticed that the check valve was very badly rusted through and thought it was throwing off values by letting fresh air in front of the O2 sensor, as well as not functioning as a one-way valve any longer. So my dumb ass thought it would be a good idea to just eliminate the hose from the catch can down to the exhaust, cap the bung on the exhaust, and throw one of those crankcase breather filters on the catch can.

    May just be the case.

    For me, I will always recommend removing the PCV routing off of the intake. Makes less hassle.

    Both of my valve covers are routed into a catch can with a breather on it. There are no direct vacuum connections from the intake to the valve covers due to preventing the unintended vacuum leaks.

    Modify how you want, keeping that in mind.

    Keep us posted how the tuning goes!

    Thanks, I’ll take a look. I’m peaking at 18.5# with a 93 tune. Can push it to 24 with WMI, diminishing returns after that, but it’s incredibly fast as is. Shaving rotating mass first.

    The stock charge pipe is exactly 2.375” and the TB opens up to 3.125” so now the diameters will be very close with the 3” Mishi pipe. Thanks again.

    My dad has a 1990 4runner with the 3.blow and it has just nickel and dimed him the past few years and now the timing cover gaskets need changing which is agonna be a pain to get to it seems... I told him he just needed to throw a 2tr in there and get better gas mileage and have more power. Found one on eBay out of a totaled truck with 12k on the clock for like $2600 shipped but then I got to thinking he would have to get an ecu and it would wind up being a good bit of work in the end... Such a shame really

    Question. Kind of sounds like it isn't running evenly. Is it due to no headers or something, and nothing to be concerned about?

    I have headers on as well as some of the exhaust. The driver side header is alittle longer than the passenger to clear the steering shaft so maybe thats what that was. Or maybe it's something else lol I'll figure it out later when I can drive it

    lol why are the v8's cheaper than 4 bangers? I can't find a 2-3rz below 1k.

    edit: just found a 3rz for $350. says the motor knocks and selling it as a core. I would only need the short block.

    I've still got the original 2TR out of my truck, never had a problem out of it. Not opposed to letting it go, for fair price. I should post in FS thread, I've got lots of spare parts actually.
