Need help leveling my tacoma

    Hey, I’m just trying to get an idea of a good way to level my 2014 Tacoma SR5 4x4 I’ve seen a lot of spacers and don’t really know if they are just junk. I have also looked at bilstein 5100, I don’t plan on super extreme off roading

    5100s are great. If you want a good affordable shock that's a huge improvement over stock you can't beat them. Before I lifted my truck, I ran with them on the 1st setting .85 I believe and it leveled out my regular cab nicely, maybe even still had a little rake. Completely fixed my nose dive, truck handled much better. I think they would be a good option for you.

    If you're just looking to level things out, spacers work fine. Definitely the less costly option. The 5100's using the different notch settings work fine too.

    If you can afford 5100, buy them.
    They are better shocks. Your truck will like them better.

    Spend more and avoid any lifts that include spacers and rear lift blocks.

    When you ran them we’re there any problems with the upper control arms rubbing?

    No problems at all. I'm not sure that's possible unless you're running really wide tires or really positive offset or something. 5100s are designed to use your stock coils so they will preload the coil and raise the truck. The only problem is that the higher you go, the rougher the ride will be and the harder it will be to get your alignment in spec because your UCAs will start to reach their limit. On the first setting I could still easily get factory alignment and the ride was nice and firm.

    No problem. If you just want to level, nothing more, you could try a top plate spacer. A top plate spacer shouldn't really compromise your ride quality in theory and they are very inexpensive. But I've never used one so it's not really my territory. 5100s are around $400 for a set. Another option would be OME 883 coils which would raise the front end 1.5 inches and possibly settle more over time. They run about $200. My advice tho if you are willing to pay for the 5100s, they will give you a decent performance boost and they still work well with a mild lift. I've been using mine about 4 years now with no issues.
