Are you still experiencing transmission issues?

the first 50% of throttle feels like "eco" mode.

 

I agree thats acceptable. Mine would do the 4-5-6 dance and never stop shifting.

 

Mine will sit at 5k+ rpm in 4th sometimes like it doesn't have 5 or 6th.

Damn! Did you have a 50mph head wind? Looks like flat ground.

 

Thats pretty insane...i'd expect to see those kind of rpm towing a 2k lb trailer with a taco up some of the adirondack mountains while heading to quebec. Even going into a head wind wouldn't be that bad.

Use S5 instead of drive and try that. When I put my truck in drive it does the same thing as yours.

 

Most of the speed limits around me are 55mph, there is a 3 mile stretch north of town that is 65 mph.

 

That's cruise control for ya. Try S5 like mentioned, pretty much fixes it.

 

+1 on the MT. I test drove an AT and couldn’t get right with it, totally happy with the truck when i’m in control of the gear selection/rpms. That said OP, test drive and see what you think.

 

You are on the CC. CC doesn't work on toyota's drive by wire since 2012.

 

really? 1st gen, 2 - 2nd gens and the current 2016, CC is always smooth as butter on both flat and hills.

 

Mine does that shit too and its really annoying. Do you use ECT on the highway? I've found turning if off helps but still doesn't stop the truck from doing it with CC on.

 

1st, 2nd gens are not dbw.
