no sense in messing with it
I have 2017 trdpro taco cement auto 12300 miles. I want to trade in for a 2020 or newer land cruiser. When I ordered taco I went to 6 dealerships and literally had to lie and beg to get the price of taco to 41300.00. the sticker was 44883.00 I was proud of negotiating the final price however it is disgusting how much they over charge. I NEED A WIDER MORE COMFORTABLE SEAT!!!!So I want to upgrade and find out that a land cruiser heritage edition with no extras invoice is 78442.00 with 1753.00 holdback. the MSRp is 87,645.00. so basically 10k wiggle room. the closet I have gotten is 82k. I am very disappointed as I really want this vehicle but I am only willing to pay a dealer 1-2k for simply ordering a vehicle for me. it takes less than a hour to order. I know there is more to them acquiring the actually vehicle however I can not rationalize giving money away as I am not rich at all!!! I have bought 3 tacos 2001,2006,2017 tundra 2011. I would go for sequoia however it is just to big for me and wife. she has rav4. So you had to read all this I am wondering what other vehicle out the comparable to land cruiser? or does anyone know of a honest dealership if there are any???? or should I look for a used land cruiser?

ill give this a shot, i too am constantly shopping for a 200 series land cruiser as a replacement for my tacoma

2013-2015 land cruiser with roughly 40k miles can be had for around 50k
I can swallow that easier than the new zero miles msrp...
your average new land cruiser owner is not some kid beating the snot out of it, so 40k miles wouldnt bother me like it would on say a tacoma or other sub 50k dollar options

have you considered a gx460 lexus? it is basically a 150 land cruiser prado with some lexus bells and whistles, or basically a 5th gen 4runner give or take some options..

If you're keeping it a long time and don't need a pickup there's no better truck. Easily the best vehicle I've ever owned. If I didn't need a pickup I would probably have one.

    this and that...
the sequoia is about the same size as the land cruiser. they even share the same platform they built on. if youre not rich, then attempting to buy a brand new land cruiser or even a sequoia for that matter isnt too wise of a choice. if you pay all up front, youre losing a ton of liquidity. if you finance, that payment is gonna be hefty. if this was me, i would aim for a t4r. you said a sequoia is too big for you and your wife. i get it. the 4runner has a smaller footprint, better aftermarket, and the limited and nightshade comes equipped with toyotas legendary full time 4wd just like the the land cruiser and sequoia. anyhow, good luck with your shopping.

Id second a 460. It splits the difference between a 4runner and a land cruiser. May be right up your alley.

Downside is they depreciate like bricks comparative to the Toyota/Lexus average. A 60K new GX460 will be 30K within 4-5 years.

Land cruiser is an ocean liner of a beast. It's heavy, it's wide, the fuel mileage is a lol. It's far from the ideal off-road vehicle in my humble opinion, as nobody is willing to track mud into that 90 thousand dollar luxo-elephant, let alone risk pinstriping it.

    T4R or GX.

yea there are some draw backs for sure between the gx460/200 series LC/5th gen 4runner

for me my biggest gripe on the gx460 is not having the manual transfer case like a 4runner off road premium gets, but it does have the 6 lug hubs and i like that

the land cruiser also doesnt get the manual case, and only has the 5 lug hubs... both drawbacks imho, but the thing is a tank and supper comfy and plush on the open road...

a lot of it is splitting hairs, but shit that is what we here for so :deadhorse:

the 4runner deff is a great great option, unless you want something a little more plush and or a v8

The LC is pretty awesome but its hard to swallow a $80k+ price tag when you can get a loaded tundra for 50k..

what i like the most about the gx460 4runner and LC
is that they roll off the assembly line in Aichi japan

the sequoia and our tacos do not...

imho that is a huge selling point

IMG_2221.jpg I actually traded in my 2019 Land Cruiser for my 2020 Tacoma Pro... A couple of things to be aware of with the LC is the infotainment/ HVAC controls are all integrated into the head-unit and it is ridiculously frustrating and there is NO aftermarket support or upgrades available.

Going into it I know the gas mileage was bad but it is HORRENDOUS... I was averaging 12-13 MPG with mixed driving when it was stock... when I lifted and went to 34's 8-9 MPGs is what I was getting (both hand calculated)... Theres a reason why everyone adds long range tanks on them.

Hoping the 300 is much more improved and off-road focused... will be trading the tacoma if its more off-road oriented like they are stating.

Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions about the LC.

Thats what disappoints me about the LC200/LX570 and the 460. They are the flagship offroaders yet they are the luxury trim models. I think Toyota is right to point the next gen LC to a more offroading oriented position or at least offer a trim level (Thats word on the street anyways)

Same with the Nav model 470s/460s.

All good then suddenly you're lost, hot, and quiet.

all this new tech blows, at least when you dont have an option for a bare bones platform as well

push button starts and dual zone climate has never been attractive in my eyes...

i do not like the i pad tablet dashboards
